Rd 11 2008 Port vs Bye Preview

Postby pipers » Wed Jun 11, 2008 3:48 pm

Can we string four quarters together, or will the bye turn it on for a short spell and run over the top of us?

More importantly, how will Bye split themselves between three opponents this week?

Tough task, I say.

I notice that West just scraped through without a loss on the weekend, so there is hope for Port, I guess.

The bye is scheduled to play 3 games this weekend. Perhaps Port should wait until the other two teams have had their turn, hoping that the bye will have a couple of injuries and be weakened?

This is far too pessimistic.

I can't see Port losing this one.

They match up really well with the bye.

If Port don't get a fast start I think the bye will be too strong.

If Hargreaves gets the first shot at goal, he'll kick a point. The Bye don't have a decent full back to kick the ball back in. Play will never start again and the game will be abandoned with no winner declared.

This is what would have happened 3 years ago, but now with the umpire calling play on - Port to win by 1 point.
