Rd 7 Glenelg v North Review

Postby Wedgie » Sat May 10, 2008 7:06 pm

GL 22 11 143
NA 18 9 117

Goals: Unit 5, D White 4, Allan 2, Allers 2, Wright 1, Archard 1, Lonie 1, Walker 1, O'Brien 1

North were awful all day, Glenelg didn't play with any intensity and if they'd played like they did last Sunday they would have won the game by 200 pts.

A beautiful day at the Bay !! Good Crowd and a pretty good game...

What was with the Northern end ? 3/4 of the goals were scored down that end !!

Thought the Bays first quarter was excellent, second ho hum, third excellent, fourth ho hum...

Wish they turned it on for the four quarters, but will take the win..

Well done TIGERS !!

Backwell, Kane, Hinge, Bode the best for mine.

For North Allan was superb and Matt Wright threw himself at the contest all day.

Was an enjoyable day at the footy.

Allegedly ANJ approached umpire Rowsthorn after the game and gave him a bit of "go and get". Allegedly umpire Rowsthoen suggested that ANJ leave him alone, and go away. Then apparently ANJ went back for more, and a Weslo (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) guy stepped in between them!

Maybe ANJ trying to detract attention away from another loss in an important game? I doubt anyone could honestly say that the Bays got the best of the umps?

WTF are you on about? I complimented Glenelg saying that if you played at your best like you did last Sunday you would have won by miles as North were crap. Im saying their average game dominated North and their best game would be completely scary against North. How the hell is compliment Glenelg and putting down North sarcasm or sour grapes or "whatever else", it was my frank assessment of where both clubs are currently atwhich was praising Glenelg.
Its the sign of a good team when a club can play well below their best and still kick the other team' arse.
If I was whinging or saying that North were the better team then that would have been sour grapes, not one North supporter at the game would ever claim that.
Learn to read or get a grip dude.

PS Happy 15000th post to me! :D

There was a topic dedicated to one poster, as that poster doesn't play SANFL it wasn't appropriate in the SANFL forum.
Let me state though that it did put the poster involved in a good light, maybe he was embarassed.

Does anyone know exactly why Rowston stopped the match in the third quarter?

An interesting game, at times we looked very good and other times so so. Fair to say we probably played better last week for the three point win.

Gee if we played four quarters of footy we would have won by 10 so I 'spose I think some of my Bays supporters were right when they suggested a 40 + win was on the cards.

mouse was sensational running all day, Ty Allan in an under all day our most improved player this year a real team effort.

Just need to get those lapses of concentration out of our game.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If it was, it would have been Weslo that asked for it - the camera was following one of them on the boundary line on the outer side.

I was thinking the same looking at the scoreline throughout the day at Unley. One minute the Bays were ahead by plenty and the next time you looked North were making a comeback...
