Crowd targets for this round

Postby spell_check » Fri May 09, 2008 11:20 pm

I should have done this earlier in the week, but noticing the promising crowd figure tonight (which was above my prediction), this is what could be achieved:

(Taking into account the 7,564 tonight)
For 20,000: 12,436
For the highest Round 7 attendance since 1991: 15,551 (23,114 attended Round 7 1991)
For the highest round attendance since 2000: 16,543 (24,108 attended Round 6 2001)
For the highest round attendance since 1991: 18,842 (26,405 attended Round 6 1994)

I'd say the Round 7 attendance could be achieved, maybe stretching it a little though.

Glenelg vs North should get 5000 today. Sturt vs West 3000. Central vs Eagles 4000. Hopefully they break 20,000 for the round. No excuses - the weather is perfect, it's not a long weekend and there is no AFL on.

It would help if this round was better promoted through the media (not all parts but some in particular).

Today's Advertiser has not one article about the SANFL games today and a poor write up of the Norwood / Port match last night. With no AFL and ours being a rivalry round you think there could have been a bit more encourgement by our only daily paper to promote the SANFL.

I personally thought it was well publicised with thr SANFL organising past champs for each game each day during the week and the Advertiser covering it.
I just wish there was a 2 day gap between games with the hangover I have today.

Not an issue, I barracked for Port for her so there was no nett difference.

In fact someone took a snap of me last night when Hargy kicked a goal:

I hope there's a small crowd at Glenelg today as my head can't handle a big crowd today. :(

I'd be hoping for between 4000 and 4500 at Hamra tonight, Glenelg v North should get at least 5000 beautiful day so let's hope we get more like 6000 and 2500 -3000 at Broady would see a total crowd of 21,000. C'mon people bums off lounges it's a great day out there. Let's all get to the footy so we can crack the 20,000 mark.

2,5p0 @ Broady would be great given its U17 & U19 ... League is at the house.

BTW - This round first time all 4 games at 4 "sponsored" grounds.

5,625 atTigerland Today
7,564 at Norwood

13,189 -- If Unley & Elizabeth can average 3,500 each then the 20K is gone.

Crowd doubled in the last 10 mins before the game started. Looks like most people wanted to avoid the legends game, dont blame them, a complete waste of time.
