Spot on Rod. I love getting up at 5:00 every Saturday to listen on-line. How the hell would people like me and other O/S I/S fans get thier fix.

Personally I'm with Wedgie, Life FM is my favourite too, but I wouldn't like to be without RPH either.

I'm sick of the same old "lets bag Life / RPH". If you don't like them, then don't listen, but it strikes me that some who come on here and bag listen to the footy on the radio instead of going to the bloody game, and then use the excuse, "I couldn't make it this week, or it's too far to travel".

btw, thanks Phil. you are bringing the Clarets to a whole new audience. :D

Obviously not but does that mean we have to say they are good ? They are very ordinary as pointed out by Subpol.

No, they are not ordinary, they are ordinary in a couple of people's opinion, from a lot of people's opinion they're great. :D
In fact its not just people's opinion as the LifeFM crew comprising most of the crew from today won an SANFL award last year for their fine work and deservedly so! :D

If you don't like it either don't listen or offer something constructive that you think could improve the coverage. Simply saying they are ordinary does nothing useful at all.

here, here... top comment. name any media outlet that you're 100% happy with... thanks rph, life fm and yes, even the advertiser, for the coverage given to the sanfl...

For my 2 cents worth I think LifeFM and RPH are brilliant...ok this year I've bitched a lot about RPH but thats a technical issue and nothing to do with the people ...I love listening to both stations coverage of the games.

Would much prefer listening to our PhilH or DB than that bloody awful Rex Hunt or KG any day...long live community radio :D

On behalf of many other geo challenged and those stuck at home on gameday... :-bd =D> we'd be lost without you.

Clearly, if you read the post from JAS, she never made any comparison whatsoever between SANFL callers and Rex Hunt.

She just said that she prefers listening to the local guys compared to the theatrical AFL broadcasters.

Yes you have and I think you'll find that the reason people started defending the SANFL coverage was mainly due to the rather provocative tone of your's and subpol's posts.

I don't think it's such a big call...at least the SANFL guys don't spend most of their calls screaming like a banshee or sniggering like a 12 year old who said a rude word in the classroom...but then that's just the way I prefer my sports coverage...listening to what's happening in the game rather than someones ego trip. See? we can all get provocative.

harely d i can say for myself that i would prefer to listen to a 6 hour lecture from Germaine Greer than to have to suffer through 5 minutes of Rex Hunt. That being said get over yourself. If you don't like the coverage turn it over to Rex Hunt and enjoy. Alternatively you could offer some suggestions as to how the guys (who quite clearly are on this forum and listening) could improve their coverage. Perhaps they could say yibbida yibbida every few seconds of yell incoherent crap at the top of there voice all the time avoiding providing any information on the game of football they are supposed to be covering just like Rexy? Maybe not but what would you do to improve the coverage or do you prefer just to criticise?

PS - I have absolutely no involvement with any media outlet or anyone involved in any media outlet whatsoever so i am completely impartial here.

No need to apologise, like I said, your expressed your opinion (which is what this great site is all about) and I suggested we just leave it at that.

Move on indeed, keep this thread for the positives that the media covergae in the SANFL brings to fans in Oz and abroad.

Unfortunately at Elizabeth there is no commentary box, we just sit up the back of the stands near the stats people so when a breeze blows through, we certainly feel it ;)

No where near as cold as a Noarlunga, which I get to experience tomorrow, or even over in your neck of the woods mate ;)

Glad you tuned in today, (we gave a few mentions on air accordingly of course) but were there any issues with the online streaming at all ???

Streaming was fine Phil

It has been all year, it's only RPH that has a problem with thier streaming but like JAS said I guess that is a technical problem of some sort
