ABC's Stateline Piece on SANFL Club Mascots and Volunteers

Postby Wedgie » Fri May 22, 2009 11:07 pm

I'm sure all will enjoy this one, it was on Stateline tonight and a big thank you to Wessie from rocketrooster.com who put this on youtube. Although its predominately about the longest serving club mascot it has a bit about mascots from most clubs and is basically a story about volunteers in the SANFL. Also a nice cameo from one of the best websites in the world too! ;)

Great story - good to see that Rocket Rooster is in safe hands with "Uncle Fester" who I might add is one of the
"Groggies". Lucky they didn't show any footage of his antics on the odd occasions he gets down to the Taj end!

Dunno, I could understand his point, in those days the SANFL was almost as professional as the VFL and North were so professional that we could knock off teams like Melbourne and Collingwood.
Having a big white chicken walk through your change rooms when you're trying to pump the boys up probably wouldn't impress a lot of coaches! ;)
