SAFOOTY PHILosophy - 2009 #4 GO WEST ... FOR A SONG

Postby PhilH » Fri May 08, 2009 8:19 pm

We would meet 9pm Friday Night at the Festival Theatre, hop on a bus, travel overnight to Melbourne, arrive at the Queen Victoria Markets for breakfast, head out to suburban grounds like Windy Hill, Moorabbin and Victoria Park, watch the Crows get thumped, get abused by the locals, recover at Toto's Pizza Bar in Lygon Street and then board the bus back overnight to Adelaide. We would then arrive breakfast time Sunday and head off to our various SANFL games.

Yep, they were the days Phil, went on many of those bus trips too, except our eating haunt of choice was the Moosehead Tavern ($10 Snittys that came out on Pizza platters coz they were bloody HUGE!)

Great times. Great story....

Would have liked to gone West but have to work Saturday night. Saving my pennies to do the Vic Trip in 2011 by bus if we play the Vics

Sounds attractive, but....I got worn out just by reading the schedule, I'll be at the South match that day, keeping an eye on the scoreboard.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

That might be a little difficult to do mate as all sanfl clubs have the week off due to the state game.
