I really wonder why separate stats are kept. The Club statisticians would rarely be wrong by even a kick or two, so why not use them as the official stats.

The Advertiser stats are sometimes close, sometimes miles out, seemingly dependent on who is taking them.

If stats are being kept by someone relying on the players' numbers, they're in big trouble, as it is impossible to be accurate doing that. Imagine a tackle in a pack, followed by a chain of handpasses, by players running towards you from defence.

You have to call it by instant recognition of each player, whether your own club or the opposition.

Exactly, R&B.

Plus the fact that the clubs would gladly provide their stats for free, rather than charge for the service!

We will not compromise the SANFL competition (with AFL reserves teams)."

I think it shows how well Norwood played. My observation was that Norwood was tackling much quicker than I have seen other teams do and forcing a defensive handball. Usually we try and give out 1 handball to a player clear who kicks up field. On the other hand Norwood players seemed to get clear more often than I am used to seeing meaning that they were in a position to receive a kick. That's my theory anyway.
We used to be good :-(
