Again, that's about revealing the breach. I'm talking about responsibility for committing the breach.

What a farce. A week before the minor round starts Glenelg still have room in their salary cap of $360,000 for their whole team, to attempt to recruit Hall. Every other club is struggling to keep under yet they've managed their finances so well that they can recruit an ex afl listed, Best and fairest and Simpson medalist. They didn't have to pay their players the whole of the cap, despite being runners up last year.
Amazing financial management Glenelg.
As am Bays said, "let the SANFL investigate".

As May-Z posted your post shows that we have money left over....

Sherwood, Bode and Sammy all gone, would've all been well paid.

Mills and Grima are our only two recruits, the cap went up $10k.

Not that hard to work out  and plus why anyone would want to play for south ;) looks like you've just got sour grapes.

"You can afford extra players when you miss out recruits...."

Sorry, am Bays I just can't believe it (not that, that matters), after also being runners up.

surely you posting this list actually weakens your arguement as;

couch, smith, donnelly wont play league
meyer is the standard payment for afl players
mills would be a good earner - comparable to probably bode
a grima probably comparable to rudolph

that leaves a gap of sherwoods 2008 payments not yet spent for 2009

So wheres yoru answer sjt?

May- Zpost does not show you have money left over at all. You speculate you have, I speculate you haven't. I'm sure the SANFL doesn't want to find out. The extra $10,000 is worth about an extra $21 a game for the 21 players that made the losing GF side last year. I speculate that you would have been at the full cap last year and this year. I do not believe one week before round one, there would be enough room in the salary cap for someone of Halls calibre.

Not that hard to work out. Sour grapes ? Sour grapes, I don't understand. If you mean because the bays got Grima, I don't think so. The fact he played in the GF for the runners up, made the victory oh so sweeter. The fact he played for the bays, meant a big chunk wasn't taken out of the salary cap, so loyal players could be rewarded. It also meant local lads had their chance to be part of the history making, record breaking side. In hindsight, I'm glad he played for the bays. Sour grapes ? I think you should look up the definition.

There's my answer Dutchy. I hope they got you down off the wall.

I don't know if to many Central supporters are jelous about missing out on Todd Grima after last years Grand Final.

But i do agree, i don't think Glenelg would be over the salary cap, they are a youngish squad and have a solid base of locally produced players. If they were rewarding loyalty Sherwood would have been on a nice package which has now opened up salary cap room.

Also people forget that there are footballers who are willing to play on an average wage to have the oppurtunity to be part of history. I think some people on this website would die of a heart attack if they knew what some of the Centrals footballers were on compared to their teams average hack.

So you may have "some idea" about what Centrals players get paid but how would you realistically have any clue about players from other clubs - hacks or other???

I heard a whisper from a very reliable source that Norwood will be more than $100K over the salary cap this year

I think someone suggested that he was pissed again and got in a pub fight, but that's not the truth (this time) according to people who would know.

Ok so if your team lost three of its best players that where on good money, plus another high quality recruit from last year even though he never played(ex Western Bulldogs player Damien Mccormack). Do you think you're team would only be able to recruit two players for the coming year? I would think we would still have change left over even after Hall.
