If You Get Beaten By A Basket Case "Are You One?"

Not a bad call, I'd have us at 4th at the moment behind Central, Glenelg and Norwood, I expect the Eagles, Port and Sturt to all slip and South and West to remain a basketcase.
Would love to see us climb higher than 4th which would mean we:
a) go higher than Central
b) beat the salary cap cheats (only year Norwood have finished above us in recent history is the year they cheated and got caught)
c) beat the Bays

Any of the above would be good!

So my question is, with Westies & Souths being "BASKET CASES", Should your side lose to a basket case, does that mean you too then as a club are a basket case???

Hopefully in 2009 we play Norths 3 times and they can join us as a basket case by dropping a game against Westies or Souths

Seriously Dash do you place any real credence in what is written on individual clubs fans websites??

People posting for an audience and are more criticial of other clubs than they are on here. In other words you can take more liberties with the truth because you aren't going to get cut down for it.

I mean on Westiestalk last year many posters frequently predicted a win for Westies if I took that as gospel and rushed down to the bookies and put my hard earned on Westies well I'd be living on the streets.

it took me a while but I've learned not to take what is written on other clubs websites too seriously
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think at times last year some of us fool heart supporters thought we could win.

Tassie league coaches in the modern era never publicly write of the opposition, Tassie its fair to say struggling clubs, or perenial cellar dwellars but to label them basket cases is a lil disrespectful. So if by chance the roosters lose to either Souths or West, I will call them fellow "Basket Case". I also think in the last 2 seasons North V South games are 3 all. Westies record is a disgrace now for 4 years running but until a ball is kicked in anger i think a basket case label is a little unfair

The answer to the question is NO.
You can't attain a ranking of basket case from an exclusive game, its earnt over time.
for eg North were a basket case last year but even though we beat Central comfortably in our last game against them they certainly weren't.
BTW You'll flog South next week as they're going to be a bigger basket case than you this year IMHO.

A team/club that is is impaired or incapable of functioning at a decent or expected level or a badly/poorly run club.

Perhaps if you find my opinion so important and have any further questions you could PM me instead of boring everyone with ridiculous topics.

I don't know about football terms, but in terms of This August Forum I'd apply the term basket case to anyone who dredges up a 5 year old article from another forum and takes umbrage with it over here.

Pseudo's still bitter from the great Orac vs K9 debate he lost on the Sci Fi forum in 2002.

(lasers plus mobilty will always win so don't start again BTW)

I think you need to look a bit more closely at the date the article was posted Pseudo, as distinct from the date the poster joined the forum.
