Watching Lokan trying to play on Walker in last year's Elimination Final almost made me sorry for him.

But then I remembered he was bald and played for Port and recovered my sangfroid.

All together now "Lokan's a hack" (repeat ad infinitum)

Yeah you're right, it was a shame watching Lokan battling against a top line footballer gifted to Norwood! But the good thing is, he'll get another chance this season and he won't have to worry about Walker because your mob won't have him. Then we'll see how good (or not) you are?

Nothing like some selective quoting to serve your failing argument. I wrote about more than just "new" recruits.

And refresh my memory, Bello, Slade, Callinan and O'Sullivan have played how many AFL games, for how many AFL Grand Final appearances? But of course Matty Lokan's the one who can't play?!

How many premierships has Lokan won?He got a gilt edged chance that those guys never had and wasn't able to capitalise. That doesn't make him a better player. Just means he got the chance and they didn't. What Callinan et al DID do was perform on the important day.

Sturt didn't seem to have much trouble with Walker in the semi.

So what? All that says is the previous week gave the Sturt hierarchy the opportunity to develop a game plan against him. It mainly involved putting more pressure on in the midfield, which Port couldn't do due to an issue with pace. This has been addressed for the upcoming season.

True.

Does the loss of so many senior players concern North fans ???

On a side note. Does any know what the premiership odds are for the flag this year at present ???

We are by no means a quick midfield. Granted, Walker had a day out against you guys but couldn't back it up when it counted. Just as we couldn't back our performance up the next week against the Bays.
The truth is that I and many others weren't all that worried about Walker in the semi. When Norwood beat us it is generally on the ground, not in the air. This is why we never beat them in the wet.
I just don't see the quality that you speak of in Walker (yet), which in turn doesn't say much for Lokan.

You and those of your ilk are kidding themselves. One player had more AFL kicks than AFL games, While the other had 3 years as a regular senior player including 2 AFL Grand Finals.

But the proof will be this season... Fitter, Stronger, Faster, Fiercer!

Or in Lokans case, older, fatter, slower, bolder.

Don't most players want to have more kicks than games.

Yep, probably got carried away there, definitely the same number of kicks as games, 3 I think.

As for Matty Lokan's football credentials, all I've seen is a lot of unfounded stone throwing. But that's OK. Just make you look foolish when you have to eat your words!

Lokan had an OK AFL career. As an SANFL footballer he has had one great year and numerous shockers, especially since coming back to SANFL. Port magpies will NOT win a premiership with Matt Lokan in their best 21.
