Played in the losing side for Mallala's A grade in September. Apparently got a bit sick and tired of his lack of opportunities at the Roosters. Enjoying himself up at Mallala but is still itching to play SANFL.

thank you, that would be a pity if he did not keep giving it a shot because he has some talent.

Dean Christie is now training with West Adelaide along with a number of players from other SANFL clubs (mainly Reserves and former Under 19 players) as suggested by Andy Collins in his post match interview after the last game in the 2008 season (see article written by Candice Keller). The statement from Andy went something like this "If I was a Reserves player from another club that felt like I would like to seek opportunities elsewhere I would be giving West Adelaide a ring".

You may be right, who cares. Not sure that I care but I am certainly interested.

Played for SA in the 2007 national under 18 championship and aquitted himself quite well. Not quite AFL but should be able to grind out a servicable SANFL carreer at SANFL level.

If he was a Port boy I would be concerned that a kid like this has not stuck around to give it his best shot.

He is a Chris Gowans type of football in that he will get the job done rather than look specky (on a side note I actually think James Gowans is twice the player Chris is and it would have been interesting to see how many AFL games James would have played if he had stayed in the AFL rather than coming over to SA with Chris)

I know it's of topic but after seeing the Gowans play nearly every single league game for the Dogs i would have to say i think Chris is the far better footballer.

Only a Centrals fan could tell them apart and who is better but for what it is worth, IMO they are both as good as each other (as hard as it is to admit that!)

G, you really know your players
This year in 2008 he played 3 under 19 games, Best, Best & 3rd best, played 4 reserve games and made the best once

In 2007 he played in all 3 of Norths finals, was 2nd best in one, 3rd best in the last final but didnt make the top 6 players in the other final. This was as a junior as well

G his record for a " who cares is very good "

For full effect they both need to be in the side I reckon.

So dash61 where was I wrong ???????
Was he 1 of about 50 players who played B's during the year ? -YES
Played 4 games in the B's for 1 best 6 performance !!!!!! - WOW

My point is that there are dozens of similar stories every year amongst all clubs and Im not saying the kid cant play, just that "shite" happens.
