Realise it'd be Port/Adelaide more interested in the other side i.e Carlton ! Would be great for a road trip with Jabbers !! Hell I'd even take the effort of trying to catch up with the DW !!

You'll know the options by early December, as to which other team it will be. the match-ups for losing teams to travel to regional locations are being decided then.

AFL visits Berri

THE Riverland will be one step closer to hosting an AFL pre-season trial match when AFL representatives visit the region tomorrow.
Riverland Football League officials and Berri Barmera Council staff will inspect the oval and facilities with the AFL representative.
This will be the third inspection of the oval for the match proposed for March next year.
The pre-season game will tie in with the RFL’s centenary celebrations.
Regional director Tim Jackson said the RFL and council are confident all the right protocols have been followed in regards to readying the oval to the AFL’s standards.
“They’ve already given advice to the RFL and council about managing the surface,” Mr Jackson said.
Mr Jackson said everything is being put in place early to avoid the cancellation of the match due to oval unsuitability, as has occurred in the past, most notably in Whyalla.
The protocols are considered a lot more demanding than when Berri hosted a trial match between Adelaide and Geelong in 1998.
“Back then the biggest thing was that the oval had to be 20 minutes from an airport,” he said.
This time around exhaustive checks on ground suitability include directions regarding the watering of the cricket pitch and instructions on changerooms, as well as the provision of refrigerator trucks for each of the teams.
Berri Cricket Club’s decision to relay its turf cricket pitch this season, meaning it will not play at home, will provide a significant boost to the preparations.
The match is likely to be played on either March 7 or 14 and will feature at least one South Australian team and, depending on preceding results, possibly both.
Mr Jackson said the match will provide a significant boost to locals.
Meantime, plans for next year’s RFL centenary celebrations are continuing.
AFL great and Essendon coaching legend Kevin Sheedy has been confirmed as guest speaker at the Centenary Dinner.
The RFL’s annual meeting, held on Monday, December 1, will ratify the programs for next season.
