So McGuinneth and McDermott haven't programmed a Slowdown against real footy this time?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

They'd definately get over 20k if it was on Saturday like it should be.

How do you determine that it should be on Saturday?

We have played the SANFL Finals on Sundays for how many years now? It's not like it's become a surprise shift in timing.

No its not surprise, but with no SA based AFL teams still going the SANFL should put its own competition at the top of its agenda and make Saturday the double header. Not only would Adelaide Oval and the SANFL benefit from the crowds but so would many city establishments with meals and drinks after and before the game.I could see the city being a swirl of SANFL colours on Saturday night with many people going onto a night out afterwards.

I dont like Sunday football myself,Monday hangovers suck.

I think there's a good chance of the crowd going over 20 000. It's pretty much an ideal lineup for SANFL finals. If it does, then the semi's could push 25 000 - gee wouldn't the Power love crowds like this :D
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Although it may not make much of a difference, the majority of local and country footy grand finals are on this Saturday so perhaps the SANFL are hoping that these people will head along on Sunday to Adelaide Oval as well, increasing the crowd numbers. I know about 1/2 dozen blokes from Golden Grove FC, that are playing in their GF's on Saturday who are Port fans, who will be there Sunday so if there are a few like that from every local club it would add up. You just have to have a look at the effect on crowd numbers the Crows had playing their final on Saturday arvo last weekend. Plus, the SANFL finals have been played on a Sunday for a while now like previosuly mentioned so we should be used to it by now.

Typical Magpies supporters then, rock up only at finals time and know little about football.

Weather will be the only factor. Above forecast indicates a 60% chance of showers, but a fairly strong westerly wind.

If theres a day of torrential rain surrounded by beautiful sunny weather the SANFL will find it (or move to it if the original program cant find it).

I read the title of this thread and thought Bayman was giving everyone the hot tip for some racing fixtures this weekend.
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?
