Hoo-fkn-ray. welcome back the the Glenelg of May and June...

Where have you been for the last 8 weeks??

Some structure and intensity, if we had played like that last week we would've won by at least 5 goals. Instead of three blokes flying for balls we had one or two flying and the rest down to pick up teh crumbs or pressure Port coming out of defence and leading to a turnover.

Highlights for me:

1. Our attack and fierce desire for the ball and the contest
2. The cohesion of our back six and how they worked and linked together
3. The boys staying focused to the task at hand if a mistake was made they just went back and buttered up
4. Ports only two goals up unitl the 4th qtr coming from dubious free kicks. D Hargraves you are the weakest link, goodbye
5. The way we kept the foot on the gas and grinded away the last three goals of the last quarter.
6. Welcome back D Kirk, some relief for Cranny and provided an alternate target coming through CHF. Cranny got some valuable rest in the last half.
7. The send off the black and gold army gave the Boys as they walked off.

And absolute highlight:
 Mulesy calling the boys in after the final siren - players only - and laying down the law. Todays win counts for bugger all if we don't learn the lessons of last week and this week.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You ain't wrong. That lardacious pie-chomper would have been close to Glenelg's best player in the first half.

So he'd be almost good enough to play for North again? :D

well played today Tiges. Awesome intensity and attack on the footy. played 4 quarters today for the first time since norwood may 23rd.

Dan Kirks return is a massive bonus. Gets himself in the right spots, takes a good strong grab & is a good kick. I was a sceptic about someone waltzing into a side/club at rd 20 and taking a spot but I am very glad to be wrong. very wrong.

Back 6 were sensational today.

lucas block... Full credit to you lad on your current form. a true clubman... the door opened... got his chance and he's run through it and grabbed it wth both hands. good on you. lingered in the ressies for years. 'labelled' early as one of the "next big things"... but things didnt go quite his way. He's never spat the dummy... hasn't turned his back for bigger bucks down the road... this lad deserves every success that comes his way.

Good points about Blocky Joelie, he has been sensational since getting his chance.

meant to add the other highlight of the day was meeting MAL for the first time.

The most enjoyable day I've had at the footy, barring the win against Sturt in the finals last season, in a long, long time.

First time since 1993 I've driven home from Alberton proudly waving my Glenelg scarf out the window...what a sensational feeling that was. Outstanding support shown all day by us Bays fans...we were loud and proud, and man hugs galore  when we got the run on in the second half, but none moreso than when the siren went. One of the most enjoyable send-offs I've been involved in for the players...you could see how much it meant to them.

Back six were outstanding, none moreso than my call of the BOG in Sammy Rudolph. Hargy was often a few metres in front on the lead, but Sammy's closing speed ensured he had a giant fist in the way everytime the Maggies tried to hit up Hargy...sensational defensive performance.

11-12 different goalscorers, so an even contribution right across the Board.

Midfield brigade got so much of the ball, and used it much better this week. I felt we played too wide in the first half, often kicking the ball out of bounds when we had 2-3 options inside the corridor that we could have gone to.

Wonder if Timmy wants to join me for a game of cards now? Seems the pack has fallen over at Alberton, not Glenelg. I love it when comments come back to bite people in the rear.

I echo the sentiments about Daniel Kirk's return. Not only is Kirky an excellent ruckman, but he is an extra forward option, and can go down back if need be to cover the resting ruckman...his second efforts and attack on man and ball was outstanding...I hope he can continue to offer that type of intensity to us leading into the finals series.

BIG game this week against Norwood...I hope to buggery the Legs produce a similar display that they put up against the Peckers last week...

I was surprised at how poor the crowd was from a Magpies perspective. The Williams stand was half and half Magpies and Bays but in front of the stand it was all Black and Gold. This balanced out the rest of the oval I thought.

This would have to be the first time in a long time that the crowd at Alberton was 50:50 for a Bays Magpies game.

With the Magpies season on the line and the Power season over would have thought there would be more Port supporters there yesterday, IMO.

5.9 = Port's lowest ever score against Glenelg at Alberton.

It was mooted at the 3/4 time huddle that the Bays were a chance to keep Port to their lowest ever score vs. the Bays...

Some of the players got wind of it, but unfortunately for five minutes, with the foot slightly off the "thrash and bash em" pedal, Port got their final total over the lowest score bracket...

FatAlberton has been very quiet on this game. Not one post since the game concluded.

Does he believe that Port have now fully imploded?

Will Timmy Ginevar be replaced by Apu?
