SOUTH ADELAIDE 2009

Postby mal » Sun Aug 10, 2008 9:27 pm

I think this season is a turning point and a defining season.
Ive been one to criticise vehemently about SA often in the past
The pokies infested heavy recruiting of Interstaters has not brought the successes expected in the last few years
This season Jack got the boys firing in the first month
There was a lull then
Now Clay Sampson has the boys playing well
Recent scalps have been GL/NA in recent weeks

What impresses me about this current breed of Panthers is the youth
Some of these young lads are playing well
Recognise your age its a teenage rampage and Sweet success will come to the Carlunga boys.

2009 WILL BE FINE

I agree, I think at last that the club is on the right track; yesterday the league team had 7 players aged 19 or less take the field. Unfortunately I believe good judges are saying we could lose 2-3 in this years draught. It has to be said however that while the club has some great prospects in the youth department, there needs to be a balance with experience playing a pretty important part. There is nothing like youthful exhuberance but on days like yesterday, experience gets it done. The club needs to recruit a key position defender, 2 hard inside midfielders, a CHF and generally improve its depth.

I beleive the footy club needs to have a real good look at it's self and in particular the footy operations and stop wearing blinkers and have a look at the big picture? Support your zoned clubs and not distance them. The problem is people with big egoe's looking in the mirror and being honest???
