Came to our club to take juniors training when i was a young fella, really great bloke from what i saw of him then, also he swore at the coach, cracked us all up. Can also remember watching my old man play B/Ball with him for the Rockets i think it was. Sad news, best wishes to his family.

Truly sad news. One opposition player that I had the utmost respect for, a champion.
All the best Mike with your battle ahead, sorry to hear it is a grave situation.

Yes some good news, the news was last week that it was a matter of days but he's improved, this from Barrie's corner on nafc.com.au:

An Update On Michael Parson's Health
We have had difficulty finding out more information about the well-being of Michael Parsons. The latest news is quite encouraging. Apparently the earlier news report circulated wasn't completely accurate. Michael suffered a stroke, which led to the discovery of a brain tumour. This has been successfully removed and although he has a couple more that will require removal, these are relatively minor.

By all accounts, he is now recovering well.

This is much more encouraging news than we first received a week ago.

May the Force be with you big fellow.

That's much better than first reported, hopefully things will continue to be on the improve. I enjoyed his work as a boundary rider on the ABC, and it wasn't that long ago either, so it was quite a shock to hear about this in the first place.

Further Update On Michael Parsons ~ nafc.com.au - Barries corner.

Received a very timely telephone call this morning from Peter Clisby {Trevor's father} to say that over the weekend Trevor and Peter Krieg visited Michael Parsons at his home in Sydney. To their great surprise, Michael opened the door and greeted them both. Whilst still experiencing some pain and still requiring further treatment, Michael Parsons' well being is improving.

I thank Peter Clisby for this update and both Trevor and Peter {Krieg} for passing on this most encouraging information.

That is such encouraging news - my thoughts go out to him and his family. I hope he continues to regain his full strength.

It was such a shock to read the news - like other North supporters I saw him fit and firing at the '87 Premiership Reunion dinner just 12 months ago.
In between signatures .....

Bad news folks, Mike was back in Adelaide catching up with old team mates and shared some bad news. He's now got secondary cancer and starts treatment on Monday in Sydney for it.
Good luck with your next fight Bristles, you got through the first one!

That's not good news for Bristles but I'm sure the big man will put up a big fight.

Good luck Mike...
