I'm certainly not having a go at 5RPH, my comment is directed to all media covering footy. I don't need to be entertained by your call, I need to be informed. So please lay of the lame attempts at humour and just call the damned game.

If you don't like entertaining commentary you must enjoy the AFL television coverage then.

Disagreed, but at least some of the AFL commentators such as Dennis Commettie have a bit of wit about them.
RPH's coverage is fantastic but us fans asking them to stop with stupid retarded comments and just call the game isn't a big issue surely?
I hope DB, Smithy, PB, etc will listen to their critics and work on their call, they only have to tune into LifeFM to hear how a SANFL game SHOULD be called.

I don't listen to TV commentary because I can see what's going on myself. Radio commentary is important because we are relying upon them to paint the picture. It needs to be concise and informative.

Even though I do have the radio on at matches so I can take down who got a goal or a behind if I miss who did it, I didn't hear that comment. It's not really appropriate for a radio call, that's really best left to Rex Hunt that stuff.

I watched a Pine Lodge replay of a game a few weeks ago and thought a young bloke calling [well he sounded young] was alright and just called the footy with no crap.
