Much improved effort by Centrals today. More attack on the ball, more pressure, more effort. Whilst not at their best, a big improvement on last week.

Sibenaler is the exception though. Made half a dozen clangers, gave away a few frees in front of goal. Has to be dropped, but given Centrals are selecting players on reputation rather than form, I'd be surprised if they do.

I thought I did alright with my after match review today. The boys at LifeFM thought the same, they asked me to be the "boundary rider" for their call of next week's big clash between the Doggies and an in form Maggies out at Hamra Homes Oval....

Much imporved effort by the boys today, although at times it looked like we were flirting with the ball and tired to do a bit too much. Really happy to see Danny Schell find a bit of form playing the whole game from full forward. Could have easily ended up with 10 goals if not for his slightly innaccurate kicking for goal. Ended up with 5 goal 6 behinds including hitting the post with a shot from 50 after the final siren. Had the sticky fingers today and was marking everything in the hands. Should give him a huge confidence boost.

Very pleased to see the young lads in the side perfrom, in particular Louis Hadden on his wing. Showed his skill and poise to use the ball everytimes and IMO most definately doing enough to keep his spot in the side. Brayden O'Hara and James Moss were good as well while Luke Cowan and Heath Lawry found a little but if form again but didn't have their kicking boots on. Lawry in particular had 1 goal 4 from memory. Was really impressed with John Griffin in the ruck, back in the side for the first time since the 07 grand final. He had a good battle with fellow Crows team mate, Brad Moran and certainly helped our midfield dominate for the majority of the day, especially James Gowans and Chad O'Sullivan. Trent Goodrem was good across half back while Elijah Ware and Matty Slade had their moments and Luke McCabe found some form again.

We should have really won by more but none the less, great to see the side return to the winners circle and a few players find a bit of form after a flat last month or so. Really looking forward to the big clash with Port next week and helping out LifeFM with their coverage doing the boundary riding for them. RoY laird should be a happy man tonight, well done boys, big challenge against an in form Port next week now...

Final Scores:
Centrals 16.11 = 107
West 9.7 = 61

Goal Kickers:
Centrals: Schell 5.6, Ware 2.1, Salde 2, Lawry 1.4, O'Sullivan, Callinan, Hadden, Cowan, J.Gowans 1
West: Willits 2.2, Moran 2, Ezard, Hamblin, Anderson, McCormick, Fielke 1

My Better Players:
Centrals: Schell, Hadden, Goodrem, Griffin, J.Gowans, McCabe, Slade, Ware
West: Willits, Ferguson, Moran, Brown, Fisher

Scott Dutschke pulled out of the selected side due to injury but not uite sure what the concern is and whether he'll come up for the Port game. Daniel Havelberg seemed to jar a knee in the 2nd quarter, did play in the 3rd but spent the entire last term on the bench, assuming to rest it. I think Daniel Caire copped a knock to his neck early but I think he did come back on eventually.

GO U DOGGIES...

West's best was Ferguson at Centre half -back.

I hope your review of the game (is it for Life FM?) gave credit to his mark of the century.

In fact, I'll start a separate thread about it, it was that good.

I've been asked to be their boundary rider throughout the call Dutchy, you know like say Mark Soderstrom on ABC or Ricky Olernshaw on Friday night footy on channel 7. Just crossing down to me every now and then I guess mentioning ground conditions, coaches addresses at the breaks, interchanges, injuries etc etc. Maybe I might do an after match interview as well, who knows. I am really looking forward to it though, should be fun.

True R&B. It was probably the most courageous mark i have ever seen. To describe the mark Ferguson was running back with flight of the ball and pretty much parallel to ground when he marked it while Luke Cowan was steaming out from CHF. Both players only had eyes for the ball. Play of the Year. Good effort by the dogs it was an improved effort on recent weeks but there is still alot of work to do before finals.
