Calling all Glenelg Supporters

Postby mrjbeam1981 » Mon Jun 16, 2008 11:13 am

Hey Guys.

Just got off the phone with the club and they are organising a 43 seat bus to Elizabeth Oval, departing the club at 12.00pm. Cost is $15 per head. If you are interested please call the club on 82945333.

Be quick if you want to get on board because the club will also be advertising in the next Newsletter.

Here is an opportunity to get people out to Elizabeth to support our boys on.

Cheers

Shouldn't it be a wagon, not a bus?

Thats the sign we're going to have on it: The Glenelg Bandwagon.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Better organise 20 buses then guys, there seems to be plenty of Bays fans hoping on this Bandwagon since they've been winning games

It would be no different to the increase in crowd attendances at the Ponderosa since Centrals became a force Big Phil...

I don't mind that more and more people are returning to the Bay...just so long as they spend plenty of coin and make heaps of noise to cheer our boys on...oh, and so long as they stay out of my way while I'm trying to watch the game. Could barely see at the Port game last Monday...

Great stuff GFC. Have that second bus on standby as I reakon the Glenelg contingent will be very good...having said that, many people are reluctant to travel to the Ponderosa, why I don't know...I quite like Elizabeth Oval and have never had any issues out there with anything other than my side getting belted a lot (in recent times).

43! This IS a big game. Double the number who would normally travel away to the Ponderosa.
Surely, they can't fit them all in the bus?

There are a number of Bays fans that live North already, so no need for them to travel South to catch the bus North...

I think it's a good initiative by the club. Helps guarantee more people returning to the clubrooms afterwards to have a few beers and a meal for presso's...

Might need a plane later in the season when I will be at Noarlunga Oval for a South game, and then want to travel to Elizabeth for the Bays vs. Dogs night match...

$15 for head? I might just drive from Rostrevor to Glenelg to take up the offer! Seriously though, $15 seems a bit extreme! Or is that a return fare?

Yeah i know TigerBoss, I'm well awar of this, it happens in any club. I was having a little bit of a larf, a sarcastic dig of sorts, hence the

I think it's great that the Bays are back up amongst the top of table, and more than anything, it's just great that they can attribute to the increase in SANFL attendances. Fair to say that The bays and Sturt have probably helped this, along with reasonable and selective programming by the league. I am often suprised why so many opposition supporters are reluctant to come out to Elizabeth, it can't surely be anything to do with the distance to travel, no doubt, more so to the stigma attached to the northern suburbs and our supporters. I hope that just because this game is the televised match this weekend, people don't stay at home and watch this blockbuster on the box.

Get along to Hamra Homes Oval Bay's fans, with good weather forecasted, let's push for a crowd somehwere around say 6 - 7,000 ???

GO U DOGGIES... (& ELIZABETH OVAL !!)
