There was a good article in today's Advertiser by Adam Thomson's former team mate, Josh Francou...

He basically could not speak highly enough of the lad and said he was pretty much bumbfounded as to why he can't even find a spot in Port's 25 man squad, let alone the starting line up ???

The main jist of the article was that Adam should simply follow suite of his former Power team mate, Brad Syames, and look for a trade to another AFL club to better his career at the higher level. I think he shoulddo the very exact thing, I'm sure there are plenty of other clubs who would show some serious interest in the lad, he is still only 21 as well...

When he does seek greener pastures, I hope he makes Port Power and Choco look absolutely idiotic.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Lets hope that Norwood's great form from last week was not just a one off, and that they dont slip back into the bad habits that have plagued them for the majority of this season. I'd like to think that the 1 goal debacle against the Bays is well and truly out of their system and they can give Sturt a bloody good run for their money......dont know what Unley oval is like under foot, but if its still a bog after the rain last night the Legs to get up by 12 points...

I wouldn't get overexcited.
Sturt have a history of occasional good patches buried in a long history of mediocrity. And I say that as a person who sees Sturt as his second SANFL team... My wife lived near Unley Oval and followed Sturt, to the extent of her slight interest in football, when I met her.

If only you had been born before the war psyber......then you would have been able to witness Norwood's 'good patches' and not the 'long history of mediocrity' that descended on The Parade post world war.......

No doubt about it, talk about living on past glories!! Norwood are the SANFL's answer to Collingwood.

Should be a terrific game on Sunday by the way, Norwood are a very capable side when they are on their game, trouble is mind you that they have had some 'very good patches buried in a season of mediocrity'.

May the best team win.

LOL But the 60's aren't past glories? :?

Pretty much everyone other than Central lives on a) past glory and b) hope.

Hope our boys can give Sturt a real contest and show genuine improvement on our efforts against the top 3 teams so far this year ... Naturally enough, I have my concerns that it could be another tough day at the office, but hopefully the boys will match their spirit with sharp skills and give a good account of themselves.

Point taken CP. I just took exception to what pysber said, it was a silly comment I reckon.

Norwood did win the majority of their flags pre world war though didn't they?

FWIW I don't think Sturt will get things all their way on Sunday but they are settled and playing some pretty scintillating team footy. I was quite nervous this morning but relaxed somewhat when I saw Duigan, Lower & Campbell in the 'out' column.

Pretty hard to see us getting done on our own patch after coming off an 18 goal win. Stranger things have happened but Sturt should get the two points.

No problem there mate, every right to defend your boys especially when we've done nothing to hang our hat on ... 3 big losses for us there although in reality 2 are AFL listed and we should be in a position to not be reliant on them, unfortunately Im not sure that we are just at the moment.

I have no argument with your comments about Norwood in this context MST - in fact I agree. I didn't say they had been better than Sturt, just that phantom was getting a bit overexcited at this early stage about Sturt's prospects [even for this year]...

In the words of the immortal Brian,

"C'mon Norwood!!!"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
