Even though the letter says nothing basically, i agree that it's not the sort of thing that should be made available on a public forum, as interesting as it might be to supporters of other clubs.

What it does show is the club tells their members absolute jack!

Hi B&W,

The reason that I put up a copy of the letter on the site here was largely for the benefit of the posters that support the Panthers yet for whatever reason are not financial members. You will note that the letter encourages all the Members, Supporters and Sponsors to pull together to make the club a success, so I take that to mean that it is meant for those groups of people.

A number of people here have a lot of time for the club despite its poor record on the field, so if the letter keeps those people in the loop then that is not neccessarly a bad thing either.

Still if any official from the club does have a problem with it being here, drop me a PM and I will be only to happy to delete it!

I must say that I agree with B&W and Saintal - from a personal point of view, as it was addressed and sent to members of the SAFC as a private communication (only being distributed to financial members and to their home/postal address) I don't agree with duplicating here, in a public forum. That said, there wasn't anything particular earth-shattering in it.

Hi Sojourner,
I agree with the sentiment re for the benefit of southies who are not members etc. However as members of the safc we know only too well that we have great difficulty in getting communication from the board and the club. What i am saying is that posting the letter on this website will only ensure that the board/club will now be even more wary of any communication to its long suffering members. :?
PS I am not a board member of an employee of the club.

I'm pretty sure the club, any club, would be expecting the letter to be passed around, another reason why it's apparently been very carfully worded. Unless it specifically stated that it should not be reproduced then I don't think there was anything wrong in posting it. After all what's the difference between posting it on here and passing it around the guys down the pub. There's probably a few copies been sent to 5aa, RPH and LifeFM too. I think all clubs are well aware that anything told to supporters/members is automatically public knowledge...it's not like they start letters with 'Don't tell anyone but....'

The club said it would inform it's members and have done so as best it could. The more time passes the clearer it appears that any issues may have been Jack's more so than than South as the club made every effort to keep him.

Spot on darley, i wonder if anyone from South can confirm if Jacks stating his departure was a stress related issue??
Didn't he get all expenses paid ( by South ) trip to QLD for 4 days just after this bombshell exploded.
