PhilH wrote:From three home games this season the Black and Whites have attracted total crowds of 9834, an average of 2459 per game.

“Swans should be congratulated on their efforts in attracting more people to their games,” Dorrington said.

PhilH wrote:Those ABC TV ratings mean more people are watching WAFL in WA than those watching State League football in South Australia and Victoria. In WA the average audience after eight rounds is 59,000 per week.

What are the figures for the ABC games here? Are they as bad as the above quote implies?

Rather than use exact numbers re TV need to look at % as WA has bigger population than SA.

We have very good ratings but as our state is about 1.25million and WA is about 1.65million if we get 100,000 watching we are doing better than WA if they get 110,000 watching.

It looks like some SANFL games attract bigger crowds than AFL games.

North Melbourne v West Coast had an attendance of 6354 tonight, Norwood v Port had 7300-odd last week.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

It is always something special to see an SANFL attendance like that, I have been at the Parade in one of their record crowds when it was their last game against Port before Port joined the AFL and you could literally not move at all in the ground, still it was worth it anyway!
