Westies Scoreboard

Postby redandblack » Mon Apr 28, 2008 9:10 pm

You'll be pleased to know that the new electronic scoreboard looked great and worked perfecly on Saturday.

The team names were shown as West and Eagles and the scores from other games were regularly scrolled across the bottom of the screen.

What did the eagles fans think of it?

I'm pleased to read that, sounds like Westies will have the best scoreboard in the league then.

Quiz question, is the West "goal" score only one LED cell so it can't go past "9"? :D
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Looked great from where we were sitting and very convenient to have the scores from other grounds regularly updated. Was curious to know what the old scoreboard will be used for, however? Is there consideration to relocating it to Thebarton, for example, if it is not going to be used at all, or is it a back-up, in the event of a breakdown on the new board?

We've been trying to keep that bit secret, TM :)

As long as it can be read and has all the information needed then I'm happy. The best scoreboard in recent times was at Unley - it was easy to read and the results from other games were updated every 5 minutes instead of at the end of the quarter.

The WAFC scoreboard is fine.

It took me a while to stop looking down the other end but yes, it looked great and did it's job well. The updates scrolling across the bottom is a great feature.
