Thank you for your serious reply to my serious post.....

read my post again I say their is no need for a clash guernsey between our clubs.

Mickyj wrote:When the EAGLES wear the blue jumper guys like yourself complain that there is no woodville element .

OMG if your club is so insecure that you change guernsey on what opposition supporters sledge you about you have far greater problems than I ever thought - in all seriousness I don't think you change guernseys becasue of what Bays, Sturt, North, Port supporters say.

Mickyj for once I'm trying to be serious, I repeat I don't think either of our clubs need to wear a clash guernsey when we play each other.

PS we don't complain about the amout of gold in your guernseys we complain about the lack of green - and IMO your Footscray inspired guernsey had more green than gold.....

TM lets just address this my club is not insecure about its jumpers.
What gets me is "you" and others like "you" are always having a shot at my EAGLES.If I said something along the lines about your bays there would be post after post having a rant against me .

And lets go back to you saying you prefer the mainly blue jumper on a wet winters day (whatever that is  ) .Have you thought how hard it is to tell your clubs jumper from the blue jumper of the eagles when they are both wet and muddy .

If other Glenelg fans had not been against your suggestion, I would have put yourself and your club up there with Colingwood and Eddie .You know they don't need a clash jumper either!!

But I will just think you are one of those stuck in the mud people who inhabit Adelaide that hate any type of change. As an example there is a Tassie medal winner on 5aa who hates the yellow jumper as well must be something in the medal or name .

Have a good one

Don't worry I am,

Fully appreciate CD's mature eloquent response to my genuine serious question.

Happy to get a representative of the WWT club response as to why they wear their gold guernsey against us.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Our Clash jumper is just that - when there is a clash of colours - so only when a team has blue or gold in jumper and then only if they don't have an alternative jumper - so red and black means we wear our mainly blue jumper. (Although can sometimes be difficult doing stats if a dark, wet day). We were the first to use a clash jumper and it can be a little confusing in that we do wear the alternative jumper at home.

We may need to revisit as other teams have/are developing specific away jumpers which ours never was - The league approves when we wear the clash jumper

For example, currently the clash/gold jumper is worn home and away against Central District but now with Centrals away strip this may change to become blue jumper at home and gold away for us.

So, those that have blue or gold in the jumper:
Central
Glenelg
Norwood
South
Sturt

The clash strip is only worn against these clubs.

Central wear the more predominant white strip away, so it may not matter to wear the blue at home against Central.

Only those that have gold, green and blue in the blood can understand, Dutchy. ;)

Wouldnt you wear the Yellow one against teams that dont have Yellow/Gold in their jumper? i.e. West

West & Glenelg essentially have identical jumpers except for the sash colour, wear Yellow against the Bays and Blue against West....I might be dumb but I believe you have it the wrong way around? :?

anyway not a huge issue....

I suppose it's putting the term "clash jumper" to the exact definition. ;)

I had no problems with the jumpers worn on Saturday. As I've said previously - Central and Norwood are the only two where the yellow guernsey needs to be worn, maybe South, and now that yellow guernsey only needs to be worn when playing away given Central and Norwood also have a clash guernsey.

Love the yellow jumper.....it really stands out. This should be the Eagles main jumper as the common colour to both West Torrens and Woodville was yellow/gold, its only common sense, cannot understand why this was not instituted.

Ferret I think the yellow jumper should have been worn on Saturday as it was very hard to see the two teams .As you were sitting in the stands like I was I am sure you would agree with me.

I have to agree with the above comment
