It's only the scoreboard attendant there at any game. ;) I know I'm not the only one in that all of Unley should be configured so you can watch it any place.

And two years ago, if that match was broadcast, they wouldd have seen an awesome third quarter from South.

I would love to be at the Sturt v Glenelg game but unfortunatly due to a Wedding can't attend. So it would be nice to tape a game involving two of the top 3 sides rather than a game which the Eagles are going to belt West if they play the pathetic style of footy they played last Sunday.

You can't win game of footy chipping the ball around the backline from the 1st qtr like West did.

If they continue this style they will not win a game and to add that West have not been on TV yet well neither has Glenelg.

I notice a number of people have disagreed with my comment about all clubs being allowed equal chance to advertise their brand. I believe this is necessary, otherwise if you continue to highlight the better teams and ignore those not doing so well, then prospective new supporters of SANFL will end up supporting the better teams and create a greater imbalance.

I have a soft spot for Manchester United in soccer, and the Los Angeles Lakers in basketball. This interest was born simply because whenver I would watch the EPL or NBA as a lad, those two teams were shown constantly. What hope did I have of ever taking an interest in other teams?

I think by showing West Adelaide on tv, it gives people a chance to see them play, realise the oval is not far from where they live, and maybe take a local interest.

And what hope would lower clubs have of attracting corporate sponsorship if prospective sponsors knew that team would rarely be shown on the electronic media?

The SANFL is not the AFL. It is a community game, and should be promoted on a commmunity level. And to those supporters who follow sides doing a little better than others ATM and think that's why they should be on tv ahead of West Adelaide, ask yourself if you'd be happy about never seeing your team on tv just because they are lower ranked on the ladder. My guess is you wouldn't be.

Hmm yes but what about a club higher on the ladder than them that hasn't been shown at all yet?????
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If that were to continue, than you would have an argument, but I would think we will see our share of Glenelg before the 2008 is completed.

I think it must be a national problem with the ABC.Most if not all the games from all the state leagues that were shown on ABC2, in years past have been one sided affairs .
Perhaps its not the SANFL as much as our ABC's fault!!

The dogs finally hit the airwaves today as well (night games haven't helped our cause much, admittedly).

I'm always at the game so on tv or not doesn't bother me. An even spread over the season is what should be aimed for.

there you go whoever the organization/person is that actually makes the decision on which game to broadcast has to think what game will be the best advertisement of the product to advertise the great league we have, if they showed yesterdays sturt v glenelg clash & when people flick on to see a score some would have stayed on watching an absorbing duel & some might think i'll go & watch a game LIVE, where as if you flicked up on the tv game i can't see how that would advertise the game anywhere near as much & i can't work out why they can't say on monday that this weeks game should be a beauty so we'll telecast that one, as for this week the game that should be telecast is wwt v sturt imho but i'll wait & see who they do telecast

ABC &/OR SANFL PROMOTE THE LEAGUE PROPERLY BY PUTTING WHAT THE BEST GAME LOOKS LIKE BEING ON THE BOX FFS :? :?
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

According to the TV Guide in today's Mail next week's telecast will be North v South. So obviously the games are chosen well in advance. Correct me if I am wrong-but is this not the 3rd game S.A. has had in 6 rounds of footy? Where is the even playing field for supporters who can't get to the games-we all subsidise the ABC !

I read a 1989 article from the Sunday Mail, regarding John Reid's request to have more of South on TV, for that reason - whatever the sponsor was - had just come onboard, but could get little TV exposure. I repeat in saying that it would be great to see Channel 9 telecast a match each week too.

How long since Centrals have had 1 TV game in the first 8 rounds?

Perhaps the ABC are waking up to our slow starts to the season and will have us on every week for the last couple of months!

Perhaps the general football population is sick of seeing them win almost every bloody week, year in, year out!

P.S. No sour grapes on my behalf either!

Interesting, 5 v 7 and 4 v 9 are obviously deemed to be better games than 2 v 3???
