The WAFL coverage has officially gone to pot!
After losing SportFM in the summer, the football loving public have suffered two body blows to WAFL promotion and interest.
This year, the WAFL has decided not to distribute the Footy Budget through newsagents and is only available through the mediatonic (publishers) website or at matches. As a result, country regions have lost access to print media coverage outside of the sparse WAFL coverage in the West Australian. I also read tonight on the footygoss site that they are closing down in the near future which means that there will be no independent discussion forums for the football community to air their views.
Less radio, less access to print media and electronic media ... now I remember what it was like trying to follow the VFL (AFL 2nds) when I was in Melbourne!
Hope you guys don't suffer anything like we have as your league is undoubtedly deserving of its number 1 ranking amongst state comps and I'd hate to see that reputation diminished.
