The new guernsey is perfectly revolting. I am befuddled as to why Sturt would want to wear that monstrosity in favour of a perfectly good historical guernsey. Particularly when the Sturt jumper clashes with no other jumper in the league.

Its stupid, Its just a white and blue stripe on the old jumper.
Why would sturt want to deface one of the best looking jumper in the league

Another half assed alternate jumper.

I don't mind it though I would've preferred the guernsey they wore on the 100 year anniversary game against Norwood where they had the dk blue top with light blue sash and socks.

Does anyone have a pic of that from the game in question ?

Call me stupid and hit me over the head with an alternate guernsey but exactly how does it raise sponsorship $$$?
I can understand it raising merchandise $$$ but Im buggered if I can work out how it would raise sponsorship $$$?
Don't get me wrong, Im all for them (if dont right) but that one has me honestly confused

If you insist ...........Stupid. Raising money be it for merchandise , sponsorship or a BBQ still has the same result ......it raises money .( ps spelling mistake above , I know you are hot on that Wedgie!!!)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm ...

There is a difference between a clash strip & a herritage one off jumper.

The herritage jumpers make money from being auctioned as they are a rare item. Even South made money from the 1877 replica worn last year.

Clash Strips should be saved for when there is a ..... CLASH.

The only money I can see being made from a clash jumper is if someone buys an extra jumper than what they intended. Hard to believe there are that many who would buy one to make it worthwhile.

I have applauded most clubs who have an alternate strip - ie Norwood, Eagles, West as these three along with Glenelg & South clash all the time.

However both North & Sturt have very distinctive coloured jumers and in my opinion do not clash with anyone.

The Sturt one looks OK from afar, main concern being the SFC intertwined logo gets merged with the navy blue V and is somewhat lost.

Not sure of your point here Phil , quite obviously there is a dif between heritage and away strips ? The SANFL from my knowledge has no rule on clash strips . The clubs can decide if they want an away strip . You are right with Sturt , they don't clash at all so I think it may be to something different and maybe capture a younger audience or just someting different , we certainly wont make any money out of it. My thoughts re that Marketing people at SANFL should be very creative , bold and maybe daring however I dont think enough are .

I like it. It looks forboding, designed to inflict loss on all that stand before it.
It is pretty hard to screw up Dark Blue and Light Blue though IMO. In this case I reckon the white has worked well as part of the design also.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

The new Sturt jumper is neither - its an 'alternate' / 'away' jumper.

Its nothing to do with clashes (the club hasn't used that word why are we?) or heritage (obviously). It's second guernsey to raise sponsor/merchandise funds.

It looks like most posters aren't begrudging the club raising funds ... just that a few don't like the design!
In between signatures .....

i like it, but think that maybe the white part could have been light blue and the bottom dark?

and go back to the old school 90's SFC logo.

still, its a good idea and when they go on sale (if they do) ill get one for sure.
