I guess it is all up to one's opinion but Adelaide Oval is my favourite oval to go see sport at. As I don't drink alcohol nor have ever had to line-up to see Central play there, I have no complaint at all with the ground.

Agreed and I know of at least one club that is very jealous of the surface at Norwood.
It used to be one of the worst too but its amazing what a bit of rest over the off seasons can do for a ground.
Other ovals quite often have winter and summer grass and with no rest between seasons that quite often results in crap surfaces not to mention the cricket pitch areas.

For mine, I like Adelaide Oval, BUT I don't take my kids as the BALL NAZI's pounce all too easily when my 2 year old son latches on to a 2 metre torp...
Any other ground the kids can kick the footy's run around, jump over the fence for a kick after the game etc etc. Makes it a good family outing.
Adelaide Oval..bah humbug...

And as Wedgie says XXXX :vom: :vom: :vom:
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

I'm with Wedgie - I hope Centrals dig their heels and refuse to switch the Anzac game to Adelaide Oval.

Centrals has lost something like 2 of their past 35 matches at Hamra Homes Oval (though both those losses are to North). Why would you give up that home ground advantage?

Why play at Adelaide Oval, where you have to park miles away from the ground, struggle down (and up after the game) Montifiorre Hill, walk three quarters of the way around the ground to sit in the Edwin Smith Stand (and walk all the way back if the SACA don't open the members post-game), and sit in what's becoming more and more of a stale and boring stadium (if it gets any more staler, they should just build the 65 000 seat stadium there everyone's drooling over atm). Compare that to Elizabeth - just 10 minutes up the road, easy, close parking, great facilities, great atmosphere.

As it's Centrals home game, it ultimately should be their decision, not the SANFL, as to whether it's moved or not, but like Wedgie said, lets hope Centrals dig their heels in and refuse to move it to Adelaide Oval.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

As a doggies fan I wouldnt care either way. I think if Adelaide Oval is available it should be moved back. ANZAC day isnt about the doggies home win loss ratio IMHO.
Centrals 16.11 107 North 5.12 42 the dynasty continues .

You've hit the nail on the head JMO. 75 years of Anzac traditition, 50 years (69 games) of Anzac Day footy tradition at nuetral venues versus 1 year of a (arguable) stand alone home games on Anzac Day........it's a no brainer.

I'm not arguing against that point, but I hope the dogs are compensated financially in line with their budgets for this game as they stand to lose a substantial amount of income otherwise.

That would only be fair, obviously at this late stage a large amount of effort would have gone into preparations already. As much as I think Elizabeth would draw a good crowd, on Anzac day I think it would be even larger in the City, the extra gate takings would more than cover any compensation.

because sturt haven't won at the adelaide oval since they re-did the playing surface with the 'ground overhaul', they even threw away a 50 point lead there as well in one of the games they lost (v north) & they imho have no confidence in playing at the famous ground atm

Keep tossing the worms in bayman. Someones bound to bite soon

North didn't play Glenelg in any Anzac Day games in 86, 87, 88 nor west in 92.
Tradition then says North shouldn't even play Central in a Grand Final rematch if you want to look at that.
50 years of tradition that doesn't even go back 12 months against but over 100 years of tradition of not changing the program for an Anzac Day once it was set.
Tradition says that games on Anzac Day are played between a variety of teams at various grounds.
Tradition is a ridiculous argument, didn't these people go to the game in the 80s and 90s? :?

Argue for a better locality for North supporters to get to with perhaps the chance to draw a bigger crowd, or for more practise at the ground that would most likely have most of the finals. That argument at least would make sense.

If we had played the Bays in 89, why would have that been traditional, or a special occasion?
