Postby Wedgie » Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:40 pm

Central District.

Congratulations to the Dogs, since the advent of this award North have won 2 and the Dogs have won 2.

This from the SANFL AGM Report just releated:

WEST END CLUB OF THE YEAR
The West End Club of the Year Award recognises the achievements and success of the most outstanding SANFL Club. All Clubs are judged on both their on and off field performances against a range of benchmarking standards such as consolidated club profits, club memberships, home match attendances
and on field success.
Central District Football Club won the 2007 Award, an outstanding achievement to top off a great year on field. Sturt Football Club came in at second place, and also took out the award for ‘Most Improved Club’ following an outstanding on field performance as well as featuring strongly in the Junior Award winners (Tomkins & McCallum Medallists) for season 2007.
The Eagles and North Adelaide also did very well, finishing narrowly behind Sturt to take third and fourth positions consecutively.
The SANFL thanks West End for their sponsorship of this Award.

no surprises?
I'm surprised the Crows didn't get it for.... well.... just being the Crows!
They beat a fairly decent field to get it (deservedly), & it's great to know that SANFL is still rated.

Umm.. Punky, this is in regards to SANFL club of the year. Only the 9 SANFL affiliated clubs can win it. Crows,Power, thunderbirds whatever cant win this one.

Are you are referring to SA team of year which Central won also?

Not sure but the words appropriate, passionate and professional would have to get a run in a few posts wouldn't they?
