This query was acknowledged and internally referred to the their Audience & Consumer Affairs department:-
"After reading about the subject on an internet forum, I am of the understanding that the ABC will cease to provide national exposure of second tier league football in 2008 on ABC2.
Can you confirm that this is the case and, if so, what will be screened at this timeslot in its stead?"
Almost half way into the (IMAO, excessive) four weeks the ABC allow themselves for a "detailed response", none (detailed or otherwise) received.
Here's waiting.
