I would have though "inferior type sports" were more like gymnastics, volleyball, badminton, chess and poker.![]()
Soccer, basketball, rugby and the like are serious competition to Aussie Rules. Basketball and soccer have switched to a summer timetable though now (at least at the NBL/A League levels) which may mean that cricket has to watch them more closely than ever.
