A lot of time wasted there

Which bit of this

Jimmy's post above is all things typical of Strut supporters.

You just don't get it.

Glenelg (or any other team) has no reason to worry about comparing ourselves to your recent performances.

You are NOT a powerhouse of the SANFL, or even a leading club. And neither is Glenelg, by a long stretch. We are aware of that, you are not.

There are far better (and more relevant) teams for us all to worry about.

Sturt are weak and were thrown in the creek a few years ago.

Do you disagree with?

To summarise, I said:

a: Sturt is no longer a powerhouse of the SANFL
b: Neither is Glenelg

While I am raving, can someone explain to me how Sturt is in a better financial position now then 12 months ago?

You still lost money, so you have less than you had this time last year.

Or have I missed something.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

but i doubt you will come up with the right answer though.

Didn't think you were one to stereotype Rushby.
Sturt are definitely NOT a powerhouse, that belongs to Central and they are the only team that deserves that accolade ATM.
I would suggest missing the finals twice in 11 years would make you a "leading" club in the competition, along with other regular finalist, the Eagles.
If this doesn't qualify then there are no "leading" clubs in the comp other than Centrals as no other clubs other than the 2 I just mentioned have been as regular at playing finals footy.
So if you don't mind getting dirty, please rescue us from the creek you threw us in and give Sturt a bit more respect than what you have given them.

Rushby, why you're bringing Sturt's finances up on this topic I've no idea apart from you're grasping at straws again. I'm a member but I'm not at all close to the working of the club but this is how I percieve things.
The club have worked hard to establish two other gaming, restaurant and bar facilities outside of what we've got near the club on Oxford st, here we have ongoing issues with the Unley City Council which make it hard for the club to be profitable on this side of our revenue stream. Therefore in setting up other facilities, other revenue streams, the club is slowly getting itself in a better financial position. Do you remember how hard it was for clubs like Sturt, North, Eagles and probably Port still, to get gaming facilities a few years ago or have you chosen to forget that. While alot of other clubs were raking in the $$ these clubs were treading water.
Start it up again on the topic you started "Profit and loss season" for what point there is, I'm sure you'll find one. Or spare everyone else, take Jimmy's advice and research the "AGM" topic on DB.ORG as you did before.

One more good heat wave and 50% of your supporters will no longer be with us, anyway.

P.S.

"Look at the scoreboard"

The scoreboard says Central won the flag last year, STurt have 13 Premierships and Glenelg have 4.

Did somebody say scoreboard?

When I moved from Adelaide, Centrals had no premierships. Now they have more than the Bays.

Who is Glenelg's most common opponent in grand finals? The winner.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

No problems Pseudo & Tassie, it was a terrific game, a good result for a club favourite in Moore and bad kicking is bad footy as they say....(Feast)

I'm glad Glenelg had a taste of finals footy after a few years in the wilderness....(with a creek I assume)

I do however await Mr Hinds response.

Congratulations to the Double Blues for extending Rick Macgowan's contract...seeing as though this is what this topic is about!
My apologies to those who read my dribble from last night that's been deleted because it had a reference to covering up poor language.
We're all gentlemen here! :yawinkle:
Now can the Glenelg supporters amongst us come to grips that this topic is about a contract extension, not a ONE point win in an elimination final! =;

Is the following phrasing acceptable?

"Good news for the double Blues in that coach Rick MacGowan, who in his first season at the helm lifted the club from the doldrums to a one-point elimination final loss at the hands of Glenelg, has had his contract extended."

Seriously it is good news that a person who I rated as a footballer (allbeit grudgingly) is putting back into the SANFL....
