Hopefully not the margin at half time this time.

To think before we last played Sturt, we were sitting 4th, 6W 4L and 53.75%

Nekminnit 6W 9L 43.03%

I don't think we've recovered from that 1st half against Sturt, despite winning the 3rd quarter of that game.

One of the stats nerds.
How many teams have lost 4 games by 100+ in one season?
When was the last time it happened?

From a South perspective, this last happened in 2013 under Fuller and then Kym Cobb..

Round 3 - Lost to West 38 -144
Round 6 - Lost to Eagles 43 - 157
Round 17 - Lost to North 62 - 167
Round 21 - Lost to West 29 - 146

Also lost another 3 games by 10+ goals, but managed 6 wins among all those drubbings.

Not sure about the other clubs though.

Looked at a couple of Sturt's really bad years : 1995

Round 2 lost to South by 124
Round 7 lost to the Bays by 143
Round 14 lost to Norwood by 148
Round 17 lost to Centrals by 133
Round 19 lost to West by 128

The closest they got to winning were two 24 point losses.

A couple of the top Amateur league teams would have fancied their chances against Sturt that year.
The situation was worse than Fitzroy.

22 games, 0 wins.

Points for - 1558 ( Avg 70 )
Points against - 3278 ( Avg 149 )

Avg losing margin of 79 points.

Easy to forget how diabolical that period was for them, unless of course you are one and old enough to remember.

I was there, remember it all to well.

Luckily Lennies was still open for most of that season as a sat night refuge to dull the pain.

Only took them 3 years to top the ladder (minor premiership) though.
