I think that you guys are missing the point. The reason Central have played in the last seven Grand Finals is partly due to the training method the club uses. Look back over all these seasons and you will see losses at this stage of the year in each case. This is just standard issue for Central. Yes, it is also great that we can afford to drop matches at this stage as it also allows Roy to experiment with various players (e.g. Williams, Leigh Westhoff, Hadden). We are also able to try out a few different scenarios re positional play (e.g. Schelly playing forward or back, Grima playing forward or back, Havelberg playing forward or back). The Central you currently see is not the Central you will see come finals time.
Having said that, I still have a concern re our forward structure for the remainder of this season, particularly if the Power keep Justin Westhoff out of finals.
Cheers.

I also have never seen on here Central supporters claiming that Central are better than other sides. If you look through the threads I think you will find that has been reserved for Sturt and North supporters.

Don't make me laugh - so none of you Dogs supporters think you are better than the other sides in the comp - I suppose we all laid down and let you sit top with only 2 losses???

I do think North are a better side than most in the league which explains why we are third. I have never said nor read any other North supporter claim we are better than Centrals or the Eagles (certainly not a serious post) and until we prove ourselves finals time that will still be the case. And if I didn't think we were better than most teams I may as well not bother going each week.??? However last Saturday, on the day we were better than Centrals - can you argue against that?

What a pathetic reply.

North and Sturt supporters are the only supporters that think Central are a better side than the others?
You must think the supporters of the other 7 sides are pretty dumb then if they haven't worked it out yet after the last 7 years!

Well done, Wedgie. I left myself open to that one *grins*
However, I did mean that only North and Sturt supporters seem to be the ones saying that THEIR team is better than all others. Admittedly, it has mainly been Sturt supporters.

BP, I cannot honestly say that we were a better side than North last week, nor can I say that Central were a better side than Sturt when we played them. Therefore, no, we are not a better side than all others necessarily. On their day, several sides are capable of beating each other. We are very capable, as proven, of being beaten by other sides. Very disappointing to see that you are a 'bandwagoner' and would not attend matches if North were struggling. I thought you were more of a supporter than that!

For Westies U19's, is Scott Luders any relation to Roger?

I heard that when Glenelg closed to within 10 points in final quarter, Port panicked and resorted to sniping tactics and only won the game because we finished with 17 players on the field.

I never said I wouldn't go (I went through the dark years of 1998-2003) I said if I didn't believe then I may as well not go.

The one thing that makes football a great and frustrating game to follow is that despite when your club is lowly placed and struggling and being flogged. After copping a belting one week and feeling like shit, getting into the players and coach etc on forums, by the middle of the next week you look fwd to the following game with hope, even if it is unrealistic because each of us is one-eyed about our teams and always hope on the day that you can cause an upset with an unexpected win.

I would think that other than marriage - football is the biggest cause of mood swings you can get!

No problems - I knew you were fishing but my statement did look like I was fickle though!
