BEN KANE

Postby mal » Mon Aug 13, 2007 12:42 pm

I think he is the best player in the Glenelg Football club [excluding the AFL players]
He played about 14 games with Hawthorn last year
He must be a AFL draft pick this year.
He plays half back
Magnificent overhead mark
Good kick
Reads the play well
Courage personified

Kane is only 24 years old and 'able' to play AFL again

Ben is a ready made footballer who could step into an AFL line up in round 1 next year. There is much less talented footballers playing in the AFL at the moment. Hopefully a club will remove the blinkers and look at drafting a player aged over 21  ....unlikely but there has been precedents eg. Josh Mahony, Nick Gill.

Could not hold down anything like a regular place at Hawthorn when they were the easybeats. Was simply not up to it pure and simple .I am sure they would have no regrets letting him go .A small fish in a bigpond to a big fish in a little pond analogy to be used here gents.Like Josh Thewlis as far as I am concerned pushed off the list by simply better players even when they were going shite
