Drebin might know this but weren't North and Centrals in discussion about setting up a joint pokies venue? Maybe that's where the "Grand" name came from?

for being in our area, North of Adelaide Hey !
Central is city to me and everyone else not North
of Adel ?

The name 'Central District' refers to the districts and areas involding those from Salisbury/Elizabeth all the way to Gawler and the Barossa. If you read the History of Central Districts, the one they bought out in the 90's it explains the name, its got nothing to do with being north of adelaide or central to adelaide, its more about the country areas. If i had the book handy id be able to divulge more, but since its 10000 km away, thats a little hard atm. :P
