I had the pleasure of working with Len for a short time many years ago. So many great stories, what a fantastic player he must have been. A true legend of the SANFL, right up there in the top echelon of the best players of all time.
RIP Len.

Should all triple Magarey(& Sandover for that matter) medallists be given AFL Legend status? :-k
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Interesting question.

"Individuals are selected for Legend status if they have had a particularly significant positive impact on the game of Australian football".

Lindsay Head before Lou Richards? Or Neil Kerley?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Len Fitzgerald was the youngest Collingwood player on debut. Does this ring a bell with anyone else?

At 15, you'd think there'd be a fair chance.

Footy fans of all clubs please note the details of Len Fitzgerald's funeral.

The service will be conducted at Unley Oval, Oxford Terrace, Unley on THURSDAY 26 APRIL, at 11.30 am.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family would prefer donations to the Hanson Centre for Cancer Research (c/- RAH, North Terrace, Adelaide).
