How can you give that out on review?

The spike and hot spot were negligible at best.

Anyone else channel Bill’s “That’s greatest catch you’ll ever see my friend and don’t you F***en forget it” when they saw Carey’s catch off Wildermuth?

His one of Renshaw would keep most happy, too!

Fair day out behind the stumps for the lad. 6 snares and no byes.

The SCG tour

A solid 90 mins of history and views of the great ground

Highlights view from the press box, and VIP area and going through both dressing rooms and the long room of the Members stand

May even have had nervous one where Tugga might have had one at tea before he went out and scored that ton in 2003…

1-1 V India 1980-81 (2 man team Gavaskar and Dev and maybe Vengsarkar)
2-2 v India 1977-78 admirably the first season of the WSC era

1-1 v Pakistan 1976-77 (really only three quality players Abbas, Imran Miandad just starting and possibly Majid

Re: SANFL 2024

I’m pretty happy with McGree, his ability to play the Fourth midfielder role has helped us.
He’s the second coming of Trevor Cranston.

He must have got fit since his South Adelaide/Reynella days, was the prototype lumbering, old school ruck then.

He has done the work, may even get a State Guernsey in a months time

Another classic example of the AFL boffins having NFI when it comes to the structure and systems of off field support provided at SANFL clubs and i dare say the WAFL clubs too

Re: Australian International Summer 2023/24

Bloody smart by the Kiwis batting time waiting for bad balls, fatiguing our bowlers who only got two session to recover.

Hope our batsmen are watching and learning. This is how you bat not the poor man’s Baz ball you e been playing lately!

Head Carey and to a lesser extent Marsh can cement their spots in the test team for next summer by getting this done.

Re: Australian International Summer 2023/24

Gutsy by Marsh, Carey and Cummins.

Would have been great for Kez to get the ton but can’t blame Cummins for hitting the runs when they were there to be hit.
Exactly

Alex wouldn’t care. He’s basically guaranteed his Test selection all through next Summer.

He’s shut the door on that unwanted speculation on his spot with Inglis performing well lately

Re: Australian International Summer 2023/24

Absolute crap those suggesting that Cummins should have ensured Carey got his ton. Anything can happen in test cricket and if Cummins got out trying to be cautious or Carey gets out early in the next over then no guarantee we win. Carey edged Henry for 4 the over before and his last single was awkwardly played. And if he wanted the 100 he wouldn’t have taken the single. What if he gets out to Henry first ball next over then Henry has 5 balls to get Lyon and Hazlewood. A win from an unlikely situation is far more important than worrying about blokes making a ton or getting a 5 for.

Re: AFL Round 1*

Thursday :
Carlton v Richmond - 3 big ins and Carlton injuries starting to mount

Friday :
Collingwood v Sydney - The premiership hangover is real

Saturday :
Essendon v Hawthorn - Just for Jim
GWS v North - Expect North to get the jump after GWS spending a preseason thinking about one game
Geelong v St Kilda - Saints are actually a good team, will play finals for sure
Gold Coast v Adelaide - Rachele is only good for the first four games of the season, unlucky Suns

Sunday :
Melbourne v Bulldogs - I get suckered in by this mob every year
Port Adelaide v West Coast - All these new Port players will take time to gel
Fremantle v Brisbane - Freo at home, Bris coming off a brutal game last week, Freo too fresh

AE never ceases to amaze me, imagine if half of these get up gaaahhhhh

Imagine if they all got up

Re: Tasmania Devils

Good point

What I was trying to say, not very well, is that opponents of the stadium can say that when given an opportunity to join up and back in Devil specifically (two weeks out from election) half the state didn’t back it directly.

It’s going to be an interesting 6-12 months in Tassie footy

Re: 2023 Silly Season

Vale Terry Hill

The man whose High Court Challenge in 1992 to the NSWRL draft forced the AFL to change their draft process so that prospective AFL footballers had to nominate for the draft rather than a free for all selection by AFL clubs as it was before then.
