Re: Netflix

Anyone else having a look at "Living with Yourself" with Paul Rudd?

We're halfway through, and I like it, and I'm not a great fan of Rudd's work. It's like a slightly light-humored version of an episode of Black Mirror, so if you like that show then I think you might get into it. Episodes are short (about 25 minutes), so you can binge your way though it pretty quickly.

Rudd plays two version of himself, and does a very good job I must admit, and is mainly playing it straight. Its also got a great electronica soundtrack that sounds like an 80s computer game, which suits the unusual vibe of the show.

Yeah wasn’t to bad.
Fair call. Having watched the whole thing, I reckon it ran out of steam a bit towards the end, and I'm not sure I was satisfied with the ending.

I agree with that. Started losing a bit of interest towards the end. I thought the ending was a little bit weak.

Re: Australian Domestic Cricket 2019-20

4/34

Carey for 6

Terrible shot again by Carey, big slash outside off before Lunch.

He is making a habit of that sort of stuff!!

Up to the young guys now!

Paine would have rye grin.

Why haven't we learnt that this pitch is lively in the first session then simmers down, Ferg went at over a run a ball, Carey out slashing, you score 2 an over just being out there FFS.

I'm not sure Ferguson could have done much more. It was a very handy ball.

Re: AFL Bushfire Fundraiser - Vic vs The Rest

The game with good players relies less on defensive structures to accomodate average players.
Get rid of irrelevant franchises like Fremantle, Nth Melb, St Kilda, GWS, Port Ade, GC and the talent pool wouldn’t be spread as wide, meaning less coached structures and more skills.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's

I’ll never get the logic of looking at an Indian home XI with 3 more or less full time spinners, and thinking “what do these guys know” and picking 3.5 seamers and 1 spinner.
8/104 now
At least the Poms will get a full session under lights at them :)

I guess it probably not so much 'what do these guys know' and more a case of measuring up the strength of your quality first picked fast bowlers versus the quality of your second and third spinner. Obviously its hard to measure how much the lesser spin bowler will improve due to the pitch conditions. You would have to think though an average spinner can become a jet given our history with blokes like Krezja and O'Keefe doing very well over there.

If it was Australia over there and we picked three spin bowlers who would they be.....probably Lyon and Sweepson certs even though wrist spinners haven't always done well. Who would be the third picked. Cummins would be your pace bowler with Hazelwood and Starc missing out.

Cummins
Green
Lyon
Swepson
A.Agar

Would take a lot of courage for selectors to pick that side to take 20 wickets in a test match.

Will also have to make more then 200 in at least 1 innings per test which I think will be harder.
So have to pick a team with batting depth, that includes players who can actually play spin.

Pukovski
Warner
Marnus
Smith
Green
Carey
Maxwell
Agar
Cummins
Swepson
Lyon

Re: ATCA

A1-Top 2 set.
Grange with an Outright gives them a chance to Finish in the 4. Have to get past Pooraka and IF to do so.
Marion and PAOC will need to win their last 2, play each other in the last round.
Reynella almost certain to going down, Flinders Park need to regroup quick or so will they. Trinity just holding on.
A2s top 2 set. Hope Valley will finish 3rd.4th spot right up for grabs.
SHOC , Gepps X, Unley all with shot. Fulham will have to bounce back and beat Scotch this round for any chance, will be hard work, beaten outright in both A Grade and B Grade.
A3- Two standout teams, would be surprised if they aren’t in the GF together.

Re: I need to know....

Having a second crack at heading to Broken Hill after Covid stopped our last attempt. Neither me or the misses have been there before and to be honest apart from the fact we will be seeing good friends im really not looking to the place.

Is there anywhere to stop on the drive that's worthwhile ...…….we have a 4 year old with us so wouldn't mind breaking the trip up with a half an hour stop somewhere. On the map it looks pretty baron though

These two don't really go hand in hand, there's only one weekend per year that BH has any sort of appeal.

If you're travelling from your joint then you're pretty much shit out of options, if you were travelling from the city the better route would be via the Riverland with a stop at Monash for the kids, the community club does a decent lunch there and then another stop at Mildura to break the trip up, it will cost you an extra half hour travel time. It's too far out of the way if you're travelling from home, an extra two hours at least.

Yeah looking at the maps going via Mildura turns a 4 hour trip into 7.5 hours.

It really doesn't matter if we don't stop on the way but would have been nice to let the little one stretch her legs and grab a bite to eat, whilst checking out somewhere we have never been.

I'm hoping this is one of those times where you really are not looking forward to something and then it turns out to be pretty decent.

If you are going the other way, Fill up at Yunta because the next stop is Broken Hill 199km away.
Also, make sure you get up to see the Menindee lakes and surrounding areas, finally full, rare to see it like it is now.

Traffic lights on country roads

Managed to come across 2 sets today on Barrier Hwy between Cockburn & Olary, red lights both times, 1st stop 19 minutes 2nd stop 35 mins, surely there is a better way to upgrade country roads which yes need doing

That is a seriously painful stretch of road at the moment.

Carey batting 6 is the reason they will lose.
Head and Carey bat 3&4. Best bats in the side, need maximum Time to bat.
Lehmann and Carder should never bat in front of Alex.
