Re: World Cup 2015

So it’s looking like Australia will play the winner of Pakistan vs Ireland this Sunday at Adelaide oval. That’s some handy practice being able to play at Adelaide oval before the quarter final.
You reckon, Paki's made us look 2nd rate about 6 months ago, they are the most unpredictable team in the comp, it all depends on where they put their money.

Im not sure what you mean, im just saying it will be handy practice to play a match at Adelaide oval 5 days before you play a quarter final against Australia at Adelaide oval. I agree Pakistan can be unpredictable they’ve shown that already with their win over South Africa . I just want a good match to watch at Adelaide oval next Friday.

He thought you meant playing Pakistan or Ireland would be good practice for us....

Re: What's your "Team of More than a Century"??

Will have a crack from players I've seen, and no doubt I'll forget someone ..

F: Dunstall Lockett Hird
HF: Ablett(Snr) Carey D Jarman
C: Matera Judd Flower
HB: McLeod Jakovich Wanganeen
B: Silvagni Scarlett Fletcher

R: S.Madden, R. Harvey, Ablett(Jnr)

I/C: P. Kelly, J. Stynes, G. Williams, M. Voss
Coach: L. Matthews

OK, who have I forgotten?

If anything and opinions are like the proverbial's, I think your full forward line and full back lines are too tall, pretty impressive line up though mate, will be hard to top.

Same with the FB line too, also doesn't take into account a style of footballer .. Ie, do you want a HBF with the best defensive action, or one that can create offensively?

Doesn't matter what you want, the teams going to win anyway!!

Re: Bomber Thompson arrested

I now live on Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria, it's an aboriginal community. Alcohol is illegal here now and the homebrew is everywhere. They use fruit juice, water, sugar and yeast and sells for $25 for 1.25L or $250 for ten litre containers. Brewers are making a fortune. People caught drinking get criminal convictions and then can't work for Council. The health outcomes are so much worse due to all the sugar required for the homebrew, half the Island are now diabetics or on dialysis. Prohibition has never worked and it's plain to see here.

Re: Port Adelaide 2018

Spot on DW, a few hundred go back to the club for a drink, the other 35k go home like Crows supporters do.

Port is a club because it has a bar where a few fleas on the dogs dick congregate after, give us a spell. ..

Do you have a local club mate, or do you go to Jimmy Dean's at Panther land?

If so, do you enjoy having the opportunity to, do you think it builds a sense of comradery among the people who go there?
I think westcoastpanther would love the opportunity to drink at his club's local, it will only take half a week to get back home though.

Actually home next Friday night (leave here Thursday morning and that's flying) for a 20 year flag reunion at my old club. ;)

Re: South v Adelaide Sunday 1410

Big call i know.( and I know I'll cop it from other Southies).....but..imo ..Nick Liddle is the best player to wear the grand ol Blue and White since.....Mark Naley.

It's not that bigger call B&W, for me Nick is second behind Joel Cross, I was also a fan of Steve Kenna. South should build something at the ground and call it "The Joel Cross & Nick Liddle' pavilion such has been their input into our club.

Steve Kenna, forgot about him, great little player. Ball magnet

Re: Homebrew

Mornington Island is a dry Island where even having turbo yeast is illegal. Homebrew however is absolutely everywhere selling for $25 for a 1.25L or $250 for a ten litre.

I wasn't going without either so turbo yeast ordered online and mailed in. 9 litres of water, 1 litre of Orange juice, 2kg of white sugar and 5 teaspoons of yeast. Left in the spare room for 2 two days, sometimes more depending on the time of year. Warmer months was always 35 degrees so perfect.

2 litres you'd be blotto

I think he would of had a clear mind, a good distraction from thinking about a big game, Sunday would of came around just like that. His opponent would of been thinking of footy 24/7, sipping coffees, havin a punt, watching powerpoints, lounging around watching the clock. That's of course if his opponent wasn't a top up player who might of been line-marking too.
