Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

Being dragged around F**king IKEA by the Mrs cause we have a new house.

Been in there once when we were prepping to renovate a kitchen. We thought we'd suss out their kit, among a million other places at the time.

Got half way through and dropped to my knees, openly sobbing "I just want to get out of here!". Mrs. Boon has not invited me on another trip there.

Whilst sobbing, I look over at this poor bastard.....he's loaded with shit like he's been at the Royal Show show bag pavilion, he's draped in all manner of shit. Bags hanging from every appendage. His Mrs, looking about 38 weeks pregnant says to him "OOOOHHHH LOOK! THEY'VE GOT BABY THINGS BABE!!!"

My fake tears turned to real laughter and I felt better about myself and my day.
I seem to have a little giggle to myself when I see couples having an argument in a shopping centre, it takes me away to a special place................called the past.

Re: 2015 Frank Worral and Ashes Tours

Ouch!

The only experience like that was when we got rolled for 90 in a grand final and then rolled them for 71 in reply. I faced 3 balls batting at 11 and we only used 3 bowlers so i didnt bowl.

Still counts though :D

At least you won, Willaston went on to win the flag and then won the Grade 1 flag the following season. I have been blessed by the cricket gods though, 6 premierships as a player, about a dozen as a coach.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

It's the only potato & gravy I can eat. It's the only one that's not creamy/milky-tasting.

The only coleslaw I'll eat is at the footy club with my dinner on a Saturday night.
I make the best mashed potato and I buy the best gravy. I like dumping their coleslaw on a silverside beef and cheese sandwich.

This gravy is the only one I'll buy, it's hard to find though. I will get the chicken one too for some variance.

Re: Round 10 stuff

Think we might be a chance against Geelong, wont be a high scoring affair. Really happy with our defensive aspects, only conceding around 80 points a game and its now been 23 games I think since we conceded 100 points in a game. Unfortunately we struggle to score more than about 10 goals a game. Can see it being a real hard grind, first side to 11 goals wins
You're a huge chance with Geelong coming off a 6 day break and travelling back from the house of pain, the $2.15 on offer is very tempting.

It's amazing how much you can drink if you pace yourself from breakfast time haha.
One of my mates was always spasticated by 4pm and still kept going til all hours with the occasional stumble into the bonfire that we'd have to pull him out of, his wife used to make him sleep in a one man tent thing miles away from her deluxe campervan.
One Easter Sunday we were having brekky and he was still snoring away, a few kids from a couple of blocks away were doing an egg hunt when we heard on e of the girls say "Don't go down there, there's a dog growling", they were about 80 metres away from him.
We call him the chainsaw.

Re: Open Mike

When my old man's cancer had become too far gone, my brother, sister and I had to sit with him while a team of about 14 surgeons, anaesthetists, doctors and counsellors were assembling in his room to discuss what was going to happen in the coming weeks.
They gave us an hour beforehand to just chat amongst ourselves where we just went over some funny anecdotes to lighten the moment, as a couple nurses were getting extra seats as the specialists were congregating dad turns and says to me
"Hey Col, how bout the time I taught you how to wank?" I shook my head is disbelief as I face palmed, then he blurts out.
"You liked it more when I let you use your own dick."

I actually felt sorry for everyone else in the room, they weren't used of that type of crap.

Re: Hall of Fame 2015

Peter Bell has an outstanding record. 2 premierships, b&fs with both North and Freo, All Aust, 286 games.
22 blokes win a premiership every year as well as make the All-Australian side, every year there have been at least 14 B&F's in the AFL, although he's had an admirable career, I'd say there's at least a hundred blokes that could've easily slotted him before him.

Re: Hall of Fame 2015

Only just caught up with the Inductees, what on earth would possess them to put Peter Bell in there?
Am i missing something with his career? good honest player but HOF, really??
Perhaps it's a part of including an indigenous player aswell as an international player?

Although I rate Micky O, I thought there'd be a few more inductees before him, the same said for Bell, an honest player at best who got the most out of himself.
Nevertheless, I watched the replay this morning and was thoroughly entertained, it had a bit of everything in there, some great anecdotes.

Re: Chris Judd Retires

I'm neither a West Coast or Carlton fan but I'm a fan of this great game and Chris Judd's contribution to it has been exceptional.

After seeing him go down on Saturday my eyes welled up a little and i went and cracked a can of Jacks and lit up a durry as I walked out on to my patio and realised it was probably going to be the last time I seen him grace the field.

A real ambassador for the game and definitely in the top 5% of all players to have ever played the game, I remember messaging my brother years back telling him to turn the footy on and watch this freak tearing a game apart.

Thank you for your contribution to the game Juddy, a true champion!!

Must have been the weekend for it as we had 3 phones and someone's bank card go missing from the changerooms
We had it once after getting thumped by Pulteney in the parklands in the magoo's. We managed to work out who done it though as one of our own players couldn't even afford a drink at a servo on the way into to town but was quite comfortable getting on the gas during the A's.
Needless to say, he found out on the way home (well sort of on the way home) that he'd done the wrong thing to the wrong people, he never played for us again.

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 7 - 2015

Wasn't a pretty day for the Crabs, from the get go in both grades we were lackluster. Nearly everyone walked into the change rooms pretty embarrassed with themselves.
To make matters worse a few of the boys found around $400 missing from wallets (NOTE: this is not me accusing anyone at MP, I played with a lot of their guys last year and think a lot of them are great guys). It was more an unfortunate circumstance where new players were unaware of the valuables bag and those running late just put it in their bag.
Will hopefully over the next few weeks be regaining a few guys from injuries who are yet to play/played a quarter this year.
You guys would be itching to get a win.

Re: Chris Judd Retires

Can't believe this has become a "my c*ck is bigger than yours" thread again. FFS... Grow up

Back on topic...

I must admit, as a Carlton supporter I'd forgotten how he used to split packs at the West Coast in the early 2000's till I saw the highlights packages this morning. He was an out and out freak. Inside ball winner and also able to use it extremely well. Unwavering ability to keep his feet under immense pressure and explode away from opposition tacklers. Fleet footwork and an amazing sense of balance.

As he said, to have two shoulder reconstructions by the age of 17 would normally spell an early end to a career, so my admiration for him grows when I see he managed 279 league games, not just as a 'decent player' but as an out and out star.

Unfortunately for Carlton, I think his best football was at West Coast but that doesn't dampen my enthusiasm of how much of a star he was. An out and out legend. Well done Juddy! And thanks.
I don't even own a chicken.

About 3 months ago someone replied to all a staff notification that goes national, I chimed in with "I'll have a can of coke thanks", head office rang me immediately and tore strips off me.

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 6 - 2015

Would like to thank Smithfield for their hospitality on Saturday. Simon and his committee work tirelessly to make sure everything runs smoothly on match day, well done guys.. Also a great gesture from both clubs in both grades to line up and shake hands before the game. And thank you for the carton left in the changerooms for the A grade and the jugs in the club to follow. Overall a great day day out at Smithfield apart from the results.
Maybe people should get out to clubs on match day and see what a great job volunteers do for clubs instead of focusing on certain one off instances by individuals. FWIW, West Croydon are one of the best organised clubs on match day that i have come across and their match day officals are outstanding.
Good to hear some traditions have been maintained out there, nice words aswell mate, I'll pass them on.

The northern-most clubs do cop a bad rap for every minor infringement, I know during my tenure there I invested so much time and effort into making sure everything went smoothly on match days knowing full well that it would only take one loose cannon to turn it all to shit again, I was fortunate enough to get through incident free during my reign.
The current committee are all hearty club people who are proactive and are fully focused on maintaining a clean slate, the coaching staff are strict in the players discipline and everyone out there seems to be on the same page.
Being a life member out there I'll always have an interest in their results and demeanor, I do get updates on Saturday afternoon's on how they are going.
It's always good to read rival clubs positive feedback from their journeys out north where even the women have mullets.

Re: ATCA 2014/15.

Yeah we are lucky being a hard wicket club and having two ovals at the one venue, the smaller oval being the perfect size for an oldies t20 match and its at the furthest part away from our training nets so the a grade could train as usual and then stay back and watch while selection is on
I used to run a 4 team T20 comp for a few years a while back, it was a great money spinner for all the clubs involved, each club got to host a T20 double header and all supporters were instructed to not take their own alcohol, each home club were advised to sell cheap p!ss though, it worked really well and it bought all the clubs closer together.
