Re: Golf in general

Rumors still circulating tee times may be as early as 8am to fit in with prime time US TV slots.

yep was thinking that would be the case, they are extremely keen to get this to be a good TV product, 8am tee off would mean its all over by 12.30pm

Still saying 12.15 to 12.30 tee off every afternoon at the Club. Hoping thats the case!

I guess that would still be OK time into the West Coast of the States

Volunteer's been told afternoon tee off, so assume that be the case still

Play it stand alone on Saturday at the Bay, even 2k there be good atmosphere. Or just get rid of the game altogether

Re: Grade Cricket

Game on tomorrow at Woodville Oval. I'm hearing some interesting "Ins' for both teams.
Also hearing that it wouldn't be a surprise if the 2 divisions doesn't go ahead next season as there could be some legal action being taken by 1 or 2 clubs??
Funny if it doesn't and some clubs have spent a bucket load of money this year

Valente still be happy with his $25k though :D

Re: Grade Cricket

Angry Bull, I totally agree with everything you said above. That was exactly what all the Clubs were told by the SACA board people who came around at the start of the season with their meetings. Players will not be disadvantaged with selection if playing Div 2. The big boss of SACA Charlie Hodgson is from UK and behind this proposal and was adamant they don’t want players moving Clubs. Can’t see Thomas Kelly or Matthias leaving as they are Sturt juniors from way back. Can see any players moving from interstate to try and make it here though going to a club in Div 1.

Hearing they are aiming to start at 12.30 with 80 overs available. Any time lost with rain from now on reduces those overs. Gives WT at least a chance if rain stays away till late arvo.

Re: SANFL 2023 season

Considering the WAFL named a 34-man squad prior to ANZAC Day, and we've only named a squad 11 days out, it's fair to say the WAFL are taking this more seriously at the moment.

How many training sessions are the SA team going to be having together? 3? 4?

Will have the same trainings they always have, and always get the win.

Said this couple of months ago, but what a ridiculous time to play the game, around 3pm on a Friday at Adelaide Oval with nobody watching. Will really inspire the players, what a disgrace!

Agree, that's where charging $20 to get into an SANFL game is ludicrous. I know many people who would go to a game here and there, big game like Sturt vs Bays for example, but no way would pay that much, should be $10. Would make a killing over the bar and food, just plain stupid!

Jonas playing in the SANFL and it's not because he's returning from injury, purely on form.

Re: Rd 10 Norwood Vs Power COOPERS STADIUM SUN 18/6 2:10

Crowd figure? Looked pretty sparse

2300.

Boyd too strong in the middle, Visentini did his best to break even with him but Boyd controlled the air in the midfield. When Norwood exited the back half he marked it, when Port exited the back half he brought it to ground.

McLean and Surman made the most of their chances, Robinson looks like a massive flog, Seymour was too smart at half back and Rohkar, Hamilton and Nunn only had Mead to worry about in the middle as our young group couldn't match the stronger bodies.

Agree re Robinson, for someone that has played less than 10 games and done bugger all, he carries on like a tool

Re: Ashes 2023

What's up with Pat Cummins....never seen him so inconsistent, he's best has been brilliant but also never seen him bowl so much down leg.

Bazball getting to him? Pressure of the captaincy in a tough series??

He is the only pace bowler to play the Test Match Final and all four Ashes Tests. He needed to be rested for one like all the other bowlers. That's the problem with having a bowler as captain and him wanting to play every match. Now he looks absolutely stuffed and is basically useless, and to top it off he is a very average captain. Weather holds out just a bit over Day 4/5 then we are losing the Ashes 3-2 for sure

Looks a good side, no complaints here. Marshall and English would have been hard to split.

Think the team is absolutely spot on. Can’t argue with any selections really.

Maybe the Bont captain, but they always seem to pick a random captain, no issue with Greene getting it.

Agree Marshall and Blakey the unlucky ones, maybe Larkey kicking nine in the last round got him in just ahead.

In hindsight, the Melbourne move hasn't worked out for Grundy. A bit harsh though to characterise it solely as choosing his 'life away from footy over his actual job of playing footy' IMO.

He needed a change.

But 98% of the football world thought Melbourne was the absolute wrong choice of Club. This has been proven spot on.
