Re: Australian International Summer

Get off Smith whats with his head shaking all the way off in disbelief every time he gets out?

A wonder Mr Fidgety didn't ask for a review for this dismissal.....about the 1st time all summer he hasn't - get off!

I reckon he's shaking his head because he's p!ssed off with him self for getting out, nothing to do with disbelief, IMO.

Re: AFL Round 7 - Bring your own hu$h money.... for the hone

West Coast have a responsibility to the game to challenge Nic Nats ban. Absolute joke thats a week. Its a free kick for in the back and nothing more. I watched nearly every game over the weekend and there was 2 things that stru ck me with tackling.
I reckon there was at least 6-8 occasions where you could see a bloke was going to be run down and in each case the tackler clearly got into the back much like Natanui but you can just tell the umpire is gooing to pay holding the ball before he is even tackled. His mind is made up becaues you can see what is going to happen. You still need to be tackled correctly.
The 2nd was players getting pinged for holding the ball when the tackle barely retarded them at all. Very quick on the whistle

MRP said Nic Nat had both his arms pinned before driving him into the ground.
1) Never drove him, just momentum of 110kg guy going forward.
2) 1 of Amon arms are free.
3) Deemed as High Contact,it's not.

Re: Unlucky for some - Round 13

Umpiring is at an all time low, it's appalling the amount of incorrect disposal the game currently allows in the name of keeping the ball moving.

Im not one to defend umpires, and whilst I've seen several bad calls this season, overall I dont think it's too bad. I miss the days of "Jesse" James handing out his own judge, jury and executioner on the field which quickly brought players in to line.

The umps these days have to contend with:

- More congestion than ever
- Fast game than ever
- Interpretation changes mid-season
- Flavour of the week rules

Not an easy gig by any means

It's an impossible gig because we keep adding rule upon rule. Take a step back, reduce the amount of rules, make it simple, so umpires aren't calling on rules that they can only get right less then 50% of the time.

Re: Unlucky for some - Round 13

Well west coast cant win the flag, the same blokes that go missing in the big games are still there, still dominating in Perth, cant get a kick on the road. Buyer beware Gaff and McGovern. Kennedy, Cripps and biggest front runner LeCras. Im still not convinced on Darling either

Same amount of scoring shots. We were slightly off after the bye, especially going forward. Kept coming tho. Could have thrown the towel in.
McGovern played a Genuine CHb tonight and played well on Buddy.
Correct on LeCras. Cripps is a spastic. Can't have Jetta,Cripps,Masten and LeCras in the same side.
Rough on Kennedy, delivery was horrid tonight, and playing FF, your opportunities are only as good as your mid field allows.
Sydney needed to win this match more than WC did and it happened.

Yeah agreed, due for a loss, 10 in a row these days is tough.
The 2 indigenous lads were a worry tonight too, combine them with the 4 yoiu mention and theres your reason for the loss. Their inability to provide a contest against the likes of Lloyd, Smith and Jones killed you. Grundy shouldnt be beating anyone.
Doesnt Cripps normally play shut down on someone like Lloyd?

Rioli was poor, but had Smith on him tonight, and Willie has played 10 games against an AA.
Ryan coming off a 10 week ankle. Risky selection, didn't pay off tonight, couldn't chase.
WC has 3 blokes coming off 4 week injuries. Shuey,Masten,Ryan, and a debutant in Brander.
No, Cripps is a retard, provides nothing but a hazard to everyone, my TV and anyone around me.

What was Mickelson doing???
Yes that was interesting, as was the interview with the USGA officials. They pinged him 2 shots for hitting a moving ball.

Got me wandering though would a lesser known, or a non yank get DQ’d? Thats handy to know....might use this on the 2nd at Thaxted when the pins are sitting on one of the 2 back mounds where its tough to get them to effectively stop on a dime....

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

Question for anyone that might be in the know ... Mate has shares in a horse that just runs like a busted ass. On most occasions it's run well enough up til the straight, but once they get there and it's "go time" this thing just has no interest in running. Apparently finishes every race without any sign of puff or sweat or the like. Anyone know of any ways to get a horse interested in chasing?

Some trainers chuck them over some jumps to switch them on.

zero issue with the state of the game.... Sick of everytime their is a bad game the media kick up a stink... Every professional sport has bad games, they dont instantly look for changes...

Of course you don’t mind congestion. Sydney and Paul Roos were the ones who set the standard for it and Now Longmire. Any rules resulting in less congestion or even the last touch out of bounds rule would destroy Sydney and there style of play.

Re: AFL 360 - (and other Foxtel footy programs)

Absolutely, circa 1992-1998 it was train, race/walk home as quick as we could to get home and watch it.

I reckon I've sat through 15 minutes in the last 5 years.

Funny, people on Twitter / FB saying "Look at all these people who don't watch it commenting on how shit it is"

Well, I've never been to Ayers Rock, but I know it's there.

That’s because back then, it was the only football show on air. The news and reviews for the week were breaking on that show right then.
Now we have too many journo’s and a plethora of footy shows every night of the week, any news has already been discussed to death.
That’s why people won’t sit up and watch it anymore, we are spoilt for choice now.
