Spot on r&b, "Pubes" Williams is the other Williams, Peter. Richard is often mistaken for Peter on the ground as well as his nick name.

Congratulations to Richard Williams, 350 games is a fantastic effort, especially considering he also umpired a few seasons of AFL as well

350 SANFL + 56 AFL, 406 league games is a very good effort

He did say 406 "league" games.

And that is a bloody fantastic achievement either way. Love him or hate him, but he really is the premier umpire in SA.

I've said before, you don't umpire that many League matches for nothing. He also has umpired the equal most Grand Finals, with Ken Aplin. Williams officiated in the 1993, 1994, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Grand Finals; Aplin officiated in the 1940, 1945, 1946, 1948 and 1950 to 1954 Grand Finals.

Well done on achieving the 350.

Well done to Richard Williams - a great effort! All other umpires will be aspiring to be hated as much as he is by the end of their careers!

Ah yes, I could be wrong, as one other GF might have been the combined competition during World War 2. I don't have the finals umpires from then.

350 games is a good effort.

But maybe it is time to hang up the whistle and stop confusing the fans.

Yesterday at Unley he seemed more interested in adjusting his underwear than in the game itself.

I actually rate Williams quite highly. Pfieffer, and after last weekend at the bay, Doddridge should retire before Williams does.

Is Doddridge still going round?

Haven't had the pleasure of his umpiring for some time...

Terrible umpire. Woeful.

Well done to Tricky Dicky. Has a sense of humour and some great comedic timing...
