Round 11 Centrals v Norwood Saturday 1410

Postby DOC » Mon Aug 31, 2020 4:22 pm

Norwood would be unchanged baring injury one would think which would be a rarity this season. Centrals I would think will continue to give chances to players from the reserves who are getting the job done most weeks.

Earlier this year, Norwood kicked right away from Centrals before a good comeback saw them just fail by 2 or so goals.

Centrals are still searching for consistency over 4 quarters and will have to find their best in order to match Norwood.

Early tip Norwood.

Murray Stephenson will not play this week after getting 2 matches (down to 1 for a guilty plea) for his dangerous tackle on Loneragen (has ended his season and is not in a good way), Not suggesting it was on purpose and it was graded as reckless.

I think he received a one match penalty (down to a reprimand) earlier this year against Norwwod for the same offence.

Despite Norwood surprising the flag favourites in a big way last week, and the 'Dogs being kept in check with the wind last week by South, I think this might be a bit closer than some could reasonably guess by this alone. Muzza being out will hurt a bit I think, but the 'Dogs are showing the fight that can make so much difference in the crunch.

Norwood will need to keep winning to keep pace with the top four, which I think they'll do - only just, though.

'Go 'Dogs!

Without knowing the reasons behind citing players, it peeves me that Troy Menzels season ended after a Sturt player threw him to the ground in a tackle. Yet he wasn't referred to a tribunal...

We seem to have a better record at Norwood,
this is why I think Elizabeth Oval is way too big for footy these days,
we should bring in the boundary line slightly.

Elizabeth wasnt to big when we were winning consistently. Each ground has their own idiosyncrasies so we should leave them as they are.

the game has changed though, it's not suited to large ovals & I don't think ever will be unfortunately.

Finals at Footy Park and now Adelaide Oval would constitute bigger ovals wouldnt it?

Not as big as Elizabeth though. But agree JK and it was all good for a few years as SB said .

Centrals are where they are now for 3 reasons. Hindsight is great but it certainly was evident to a few.
