Digital AFL access

Postby zipzap » Sat Feb 27, 2016 2:51 pm

Apart from Foxtel which I can't see myself ever forking out for, just wondering people's experiences with the AFL Live App that streams to mobile devices and WatchAFL international stream which is currently working really well with a little VPN tweaking?

Thinking about buying a Hawks membership that would give access to one of these.

The international membership includes the WatchAFL access at a much cheaper cost than the AFL site itself so it seems like a good option.
But I wonder how strict they'd be on someone buying an international membership from a domestic address? Anyone ever done this with their team?

we bought it as a present for one of our mates that moved overseas, and he loved it, though really wanted to be able to watch it on a bigger screen than an ipad

I've been watching the WatchAFL NAB streams as a free trial, running from my PC to TV by HDMI, and have been really impressed. Not so keen to watch on a tablet either

I find the AFL app awesome. He pub I drink at doesn't have fox so everyone swarms around my phone :D
Its a must to be on Telstra 4g though as the data download is excluded for the AFL app.

I am watching the Crows Freo game on my jailbroken Apple Tv. I've picked it up on Fox Soccer Plus in the US. Earlier the Blues Ess game was on some UK station. Quality isn't great but its watchable.

Doesn't worry me as I sit outside. Still catch a cab there twice a week even though I moved out of Prospect as I like the people there.
Pubs all around here have fox but they're boring.

Its about $2000 a month for a hotel to have foxtel (over $20,000 per year)

Households $150 a month :D

Is this a reference to Rebecca Maddern joining the crew as a co-host?

I'd say yes, in the true spirit of the AFL Footy Show misogyny.

Sure, but you can cop a perve and listen to footy talk, so it's win-win, right? I mean, surely she'd have to wear a bikini?
