Our trial against Greenacres was decent yesterday, great to blow out the cobwebs and pull the gurnsey back on. Played over 6 quarters, 3 B's then 3 A's the trial was played in good spirits and the score seemed like it would be reasonably even. The skill level and ball movement was pretty good from both clubs considering it was the first game of the year but defensive efforts were lacking but that happens when you're in your first game and everyone wants a touch of the footy to get themselves going. Both of our grades gelled pretty well as a team and a few of a new recruits were impressive in the first game in the Black and White.

To my surprise Almond Tree Flat came up really well and was actually really nice to play footy on.

Great to be back playing a game of footy after months of preseason!

I heard Greenacres had more of the play but just lost.Pete Smith outstanding and with the Clark boys missing all good signs for the dragons for 2015.

Was a good hit out not too sure on greenacres but north haven were missing 6-7 from their A grade grandfinal side and not including the massive loss of tom lipson

Does anyone know if No. 6 and No. 13 that played in the midfield in the Bs for Greenacres are playing all season, or are they ring-ins from the country just having a run? I was told after the game that they were on pretty substantial cash somewhere else.

If they're in all season, they are gonna have a handy midfield. No. 6 extinguished any confidence I had in myself, and I contemplated retirement after the game.

Something tells me Toby Stribling and Valor Thach probably won't play too many games for Greenacres B Grade this season.

It is probably a fair estimate that they distorted the score line slightly.

DK's assessment of the games was fair.

I would say the possession was split in the A's but I thought Greenacres would have won, not that I kept score.

They look much improved on last season.

My thoughts on Greenacres B Grade coach, complete Muppet.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

In my experience first trials are for seeing what new guys and fringe guys can do, before putting your full strength A grade on the field closer to the season.
