Boring - NO WAY ! Could have watched another hour of it .

The smiles on the faces of supporters wearing blue and white haven't been seen like that in decades :D .

The crowd at the race to chear the boys off was good too.

LPH you have been officially banned from attending for the rest of the season.

An enjoyable day at the footy. Had to respond after the poor finish v the Dogs, and did exactly that. First 10+ goal win since 2006.

First half was a fairly flat affair, in front of an equally flat/sparse crowd. 13 goal second half very entertaining for the home supporters.

Eddy with 7 goals from 15 marks. Had far too much room to lead into. Gulden's disposal was a class above most on the ground, while Seccull had his best game for the club after an indifferent 1.5 seasons. Having Thewlis back gave our backline a stability that was lacking against the Dogs.

North's skills, discipline and willingness to run were deplorable. Young Barns a rare positive.

Terrible crowd. The concerning trends continue.

Really? I have a vague memory of South pounding the Mudpies at Noarlunga some time in the last few years...

According to my 'unofficial' stats..Had a 59 point win at Richmond in 2007 which was the closest we got. Biggest victory against the Pies at Noarlunga in recent years was 23 points in 2011. Maybe you're thinking of the 100+ win against them in 2006, which was the first time the cars were allowed in.

That sure is a tough run home, but South seem to have rediscovered their early season form. I think they'll beat Adelaide, one horrid quarter cost them last time they met. Can't see them beating Norwood or Port though so next week is really important for them. Think they'll do enough and agree that I think the five may well not change.

I think South have their slump out of the way and will come home well. Absolute minimum of 3 wins left in the tank imho.

And you have to assume North or West are good enough to overhaul them, which I don't think they are.
5th might be the best they can expect though

As someone who sees the Panthers play every week, I thought that Saturday was our best performance for the year. Granted I didnt think the opposition were on their game;but I thought the pressure that we applied and the way we used the ball when going forward was excellent.
Realistically I think South will make the five with 9+ wins, and the five will probably remain as it is atm.
However I see us being more than competitive in every game we play and that includes games against the Eagles, Norwood and Port and Sturt. We defeated Norwood earlier in the year, should have beaten the Eagles, and had a day off against Port who probably fielded their strongest side of the year, containing 17 AFL listed players. Make no mistake I think port now hampered by injuries have come back to the field a bit. The game against Sturt which we narrowly lost went down to the wire, and we had a few out injured that day..
South still have to get Caleb Daniel and Daniel Bass back into the side too...I think the Panther supporters who have endured so much misery for years, have some reason to be optimistic in the coming weeks. 8)

If they do win against Adelaide, then even if everything else goes pear-shaped, they could effectively close the door by winning the West Adelaide game.

South have a run home arguably even worse than Norwood's (mostly the same opponents, except Nwd play North where South play Sturt). However, in terms of holding out hope to the teams in 6th and 7th, Norwood are more immediately vulnerable if they don't keep their form up. Norwood play their two fellow top-3 competitors Eagles and South in the next 2 games; if Norwood were to lose both of them, their following 2 games are North and West, which would both be classic '4 point' games where North or West could revive their finals hopes by winning 'em, if they've kept in touch in the meantime.

Other than Port and an insipid third quarter against the Crows, South have been in it against all these teams.

I would like to think we could knock over Sturt at home and even Port at home if a few AFL boys are missing.

Let's get on a roll and finish top 3 ( where premierships are won from ) :D
