Lack of fitness still an issue. Couldn't run in the last quarter.

i thought we played pretty well for the most part, i think the biggest problem we had was below our knees, there were quite a few times where we didnt pick it up cleanly. that would have a lot to do with the geelong pressure, which was good, but i think that was the biggest problem.

from a neutral, i was actually pretty impressed by the crows... I don't think anyone expected them to win, but were very competitive for 3 and a bit quarters.
And anyone who reckons Geelong won't be around the mark again this year is on acid...

I dislike the crows, but I thought danger might've missed out on a free kick or two

Tackling is still an issue at Adelaide too.

Got smashed 81-58 in tackles last night.

I would say losing by 6 goals and losing tackles isn't misleading at all?

if you only looked at tackles yes,

Like Sando said, you can lose one of Contested Possesions and Tackles, but you can't lose both as that means you are second to the ball and not sticking tackles. I'd like to see how many tackles the Crows did miss last night.

Overall good signs, but I don't like the fact the legs weren't there in the last quarter considering the amount of km's per week that was reported during the off season.

I agree re. Danger last night poor bloke is probably walking bow legged today. In saying that though where was the other 20 odd blokes helping Danger out. As a coaching staff that would be the first thing I would point out. Too many times Guthrie had an easy attempt to dump him in the turf without someone else in a crows jumper standing up for him. I wanna see a bit of mongrel, after all he's our best player and if he has a good game we generally win.

one area we lack in is a tackling beast in the midfield. doesnt even have to be a specific tagger. people like kelly, scott selwood, barlow, mundy, libba, ziebell etc all put in big tackle numbers without specifically being a tagger, and all averaged over 5 tackles a game last year.

for the crows, thompson was the only player that averaged more than 4 tackles a game last year (4.9) but he also gives away too many free kicks.

crouch averaged 4.4 and could possibly turn into the big tackling mid that we need, but we need more from people like sloane, grigg, wright, etc, who all have ok defensive sides to their game but need to inprove it further.

I believe Danger would be looked after more if he was playing for any of the top 5 clubs of last year. The Crows showed last night that they couldnt help Danger when he was getting belted every time he picked up the ball. I seriously believe that he is as damaging as Gary Ablett Jnr and that if he was playing perhaps at Geelong, Hawthorn or even Fremantle. He would be far more damaging than he is at the Crows. Good luck to Adelaide to try and keep him after 2015. I think he is GONSKI to the highest bidder. Another Tippett / Franklin. Show him the $$$$$$$.

By the way, who was standing Bartel last night? Seemed to me that he mustve stunk real bad because no Crow wanted to stand him. To be on his own inside Geelongs forward on a few occasions was unbelieveable.

Under too much pressure perhaps. End of the day, every player on the field has a direct opponent. Bartel's was obviously no where to be seen. Mustve been too busy running elsewhere trying to chase a kick.

i think smith was his opponent much of the time, and his directive would have been to run hard the other way to expose bartel when we have the ball. but as westcoastpanther correctly identified, if we butcher the ball at half forward, it is going to make smith's job pretty tough to work back.

Rutten may be slow but none of the key forwards in the comp are able to influence the game when playing on Rutten 95% of the time which shows he is still doing is main job of stopping the key forwards.

Thought the Crows were ok but blown away @ the end.

Not as good as the Cats in the end but is rather get run over in the end against a good side than get smacked when the whips are cracking.

A few more goals than points both sides of 3/4 time changes some things but the outcome is what it is.

Geelong are quality and you have no idea if you think anything less.
