Pembroke 19.5 30.12 49.28 67.34 (436)
Kilburn 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.1 (1)

Tommy "Tucker" Evans a lazy 23 goals

Kilburn, 4 inside 50's for the day the 1st one was Pembroke kicking backwards in the 1st quarter.

Never ever thought I would see 67 goals kicked in an SAAFL match but I have now and probably never again!!!

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Amateur League have to now step in, this is a lose lose situation for everyone concerned, the sides playing Kilburn are getting nothing apart from % out of games. I hate to see sides with so much history go under but this has to be addressed.

As for the comments re a Aldinga Sharks/Kilburn game prior to an AFL game, totally disagree with it, put some Div 1 sides on show so the public can see that there is decent footy being played out there

Whilst I hate to see any club go under, the idea of rewarding poor management of any club with a red letter day at the Adelaide Oval is counterintuitive. If we want to promote amateur league "grass roots footy" as a legitimate part of the Aussie Rules landscape then the showcasing should be of the teams/clubs who are doing it right, ie building a club, a culture and a philosophy, not just squandering cash chasing premiership cups.
I agree with the notion of under 18's as curtain raisers or similar, but really, The Aldinga Sharks vs Kilburn? It just makes a mockery. It's a bit like the freakshow concept, it might make people want to have a look but does it do anything to reduce stigma? - nope. It's just sending a message that the SAAFL is just for the old, or incompetent. Not a message I would've thought we'd want to send.

Given Kilburn only have the one side, i'm surprised they haven't looked into playing Friday night or Sat evening matches? Would any of the clubs be interested in that? Surely they could get a few more people down to the club to watch, opposition interested in seeing their opposition play for instance.

Chance to promote the club to the community, make a spectacle of it (sort of lol).

Gives players an extra day off and a chance to enjoy their weekend with family or go and watch another side play.

I don't think there is a vote as yet mate I believe tonight is a 'discussion' to explore options I believe for a vote they need to give 'sufficient' notice to clubs to properly think through there options.

I think if someone puts forward a motion then it can be voted on straight away. In some instances, depending on the importance, it can be delayed to allow delegates to get club's stance on it. My understanding of the rules is that the SAAFL can withdraw the club because their reserves have forfeited 3 games. I would like to think they wouldn't pull them out altogether but maybe offer them a regrade.

What if Kilburn decline? Does the SAAFL have the power to just do it, or would it require a majority vote from the clubs?
